I sure hope that Kaho takes the next step to playing time in the LB rotation.

Kaho has the physical talent. Hopefully the light comes on for him. We need some depth at ILB where there's not a huge dropoff.

He's a demon on special teams. Hopefully he graduates from that role alone and becomes a force at LB too.

I don't want to turn this into a political thing, but are you sure about that? Maybe that's when the last enslaved people in the former Confederate States were freed, but my understanding is that slavery was still legal in the union states, and people were still enslaved until the thirteenth amendment was adopted on December 18th, 1865. Have we really reached the point where Union slaves aren't really considered enslaved now or something?

Why quibble about which date accurately marks the freeing of the last remaining pocket(s) of slavery in the USA? Regardless, the purpose of "Juneteenth" is to celebrate the abolishment of slavery, which should be celebrated. I'm proud of UA for promoting Juneteenth.

ETA: It's easy to correct:

On June 19, 155 years ago, the last group of enslaved people in the C.S.A. were freed. In December, 1865 the 13th Ammendment to the Consitution abolished slavery in the U.S.A.

We’ve reached the point where history doesn’t matter.

The first "Juneteenth" was celebrated in 1866.

Have we really reached the point where talking points and agendas are more important that actual history and facts?

Some poor UA Athletic's social media intern is going to get a tersely worded carrier pigeon about the ratification of the 13th amendment from their local Confederate States Preservation Society .

"In conclusion not only should you better inform yourself on state's right but you should show a little more respect to your ancestors and only send "tweets" the way our forefathers intended, via messenger fowl."

Does your team's QB have what it takes to win a national title? (247Sports | segment)
quote:

Earlier this month, 247Sports' Bud Elliott gave you the Blue-Chip Ratio, a minimum standard of roster-wide talent (4 & 5* > 50%) to win a national championship. I contend that a further barrier of entry in today’s game is the quarterback position. Using the 15 Blue-Chip Ratio teams that are championship capable, I took it upon myself to judge whether there’s a fighter pilot or bus driver in the cockpit. Does it have a quarterback that can emerge as a first round pick? Because that’s what it will need to beat to win it all.

ALABAMA

Blue-Chip Ratio:
83 percent

Quarterback: Fighter Pilot

Mac Jones isn’t a fighter pilot at quarterback, at least not yet, not based on what we’ve seen (remember the Iron Bowl?), but Alabama is in a favorable spot here: Either Jones, the veteran, evolves into a fighter pilot or true freshman 5-star Bryce Young overtakes him at some point during the season. We could see shades of Clemson in 2018 when Kelly Bryant gave way to Trevor Lawrence.

I would take Jones over GMc all day long.

No doubt, but it is a different game now. Mac just needs to avoid the catastrophic error, though one in the AU game was a bit of a fluke. Tua was actually prone to such errors as well but other talents overwhelmed - Mac is good but not overwhelming, so he needs to avoid the errors.

I really think we can win with Mac. I’m happy he’s getting his shot. He signed with Bama the same year as Tua, and not many kids would have done that.

One analyst said Jones had the highest QBR the last few games, (other than the lsu qb) and that was against two pretty good defenses too.
