Shane Lee is an interesting choice.

Obviously mad respect for Lee as he was thrown into the fire way too early and played well considering that but I am not sure that was a performance I would consider "potentially Butkus worthy".

Yea, it was a tough situation for him him and I agree with you. I’m really high on Harris though, and I believe he could have an enormous season.

Same. I would have thought he was more likely to get that 2nd MLB spot.

Though tbh I think it is McMillon's job ultimately.

Are you saying you think McMillon starts over Harris or he backs Harris up? I see no way he takes Harris’ spot

Agreed. I think our starting MLB duo will be Moses and McMillon, at least early in games. They both should know the defense inside and out, and should be able to make any adjustments based on what the opposing offense throws at us.

I suspect we'll see Lee and Harris substituting liberally and early, and likely some of the younger MLBs as well if a game is in hand midway through the second half.

That might not be the popular approach for some fans, but it's probably the most effective way to get back to playing Alabama-style defense while giving youngsters experience and playing time.

Like Sauron said, I think that it is 1a: Moses 1b: McMillon 2a: Harris 2b: Lee.

Moses and McMillon are super tight and were primed and ready to led the defense last year. I don't think that changes, but I do think we see all 4.

My pick to start will be Harris. He’d never even played linebacker until last season. I’m not saying you are wrong, because we are all just bullshitting to pass time.

Just my personal opinion, but I just think Harris is too good to keep off of the field. Which if it is McMillon, then he must have really impressed. That means we are in a no lose situation

Absolutely. We are in a great spot with MLBs. Hard to believe there is a better group in the country.

I hope that McMillon and Moses are 100% recovered from their injuries. I think that's another reason that Lee and Harris will rotate in. Would love to see Demouy Kennedy and Ale Kaho contribute some, too.

I hope Lee is trimmed down and gained more speed with the new S and C coach. IF not his minutes will go elsewhere. And I am referring to his back up minutes.

Harris should be a stud and may see him put his hand down on some obvious long passing downs on 2 and 3 down and long. He could hurt someone if he hits them just right. Of course most people would hurt someone too.

Tennessee hires strength and conditioning staffer from Alabama

quote:

Jeremy Pruitt has added another staffer with Alabama ties to his staff at Tennessee.

Pruitt has hired Kindal Moorehead as an assistant strength and conditioning coach, AL.com has confirmed.

Moorehead, a former Alabama defensive tackle, has been on Nick Saban's Crimson Tide staff since 2010, serving as an assistant strength coach in Tuscaloosa all of those seasons.

I think it will be Moses and Harris. McMillon while a SR was getting the start because of the Freshmen and he knew his role. With Harris playing like he did last year i think McMillon will play a back up role, especially with coming off a knee injury and he isnt Moses.
