And he didn't get him.
For OC he got JR high school kid Marjor Applewhite. For DC he had to bring in a guy who had never been a DC. For S&C coach he had to hire an assistant from the NBA. He literally had to comb his network for references and evaluate inexperienced talent for the on field positions that didn't follow him like Kirby. He had no shot at any elite coach in 2007. Now he can get an interview from anybody. And if he has a professional relationship, he can most likely reel him in.

Based on what exactly?
Feld has been at Oregon two years. He has exactly one other season overseeing a strength and conditioning program. At UNA.
Love has similar experience, having led FAU for three seasons. He’s now at Ole Miss.

Pretty sure they have more than 1 S&C person who can keep running the system as is.

This is an important enough hire that if Saban feels like he wants to take a couple of weeks and interview multiple guys, he should do just that. I do think it would be good to have a guy in place by spring practice so he can build a relationship with the guys before summer conditioning begins. Hopefully Saban can be both thorough and move reasonably quickly with this hire.

Have met Tyler Owens (TO) multiple times. I know recently he was trying to leave the program but couldnt find anything substantial. Surprised he has made it this far up. Just not the most relatable guy nor is he very personal
