i thought Bama fans on this site said mid majors threw their number 1 pitcher against Bama so they could get a win and brag about it. Looks like both are stating freshmen. This could be a 10-9 type game

I would love to see us score 9-10 runs in a game

Wrong! It's more like mid week opponents like to run a pitcher out about every inning or two in order to keep a Power 5 lineup off balance. You don't get a feel for his arsenal and you can't get timing down.

then if that is effective why doesnt Bama do that. the mid majors should have no more pitchers then we do right?
Bama should never lose to a mid major. And we have lost two in a row. and the last mid major did not throw out a new pitcher ever inning. Now SMU did.

That's a little silly when it comes to college baseball.

Vanderbilt is 25-5 and lost to Georgia State
Mississippi State is 24-7 and lost to Kent State
Ole Miss is 24-8 and lost to UCF 2x, to ULM and to La Tech
Tennessee is 27-6 and lost to Indiana State 2x and to Charlotte
That's just not a realistic position to take

Our National Runner Up team in 1997 went 56-14.
They lost to UAB and to South Alabama. In back to back OOC games on April 9th and April 15th.

why doesnt Bama do that.
BAMA dealing with a shite ton of injuries at pitching. Forced midweek guys to be used in conference play, either starters or bullpen.

Again, INJURIES!!! We've been missing our 2 studs in our weekend rotation for how long? Finally got Jean back last Sunday. Prielipp hoping to return this weekend or next. It's been a next man up thing.

It happens!

Think of it as a figure of speech ok!! They may not have run a different out every inning, but likely used at least 5-6. You don't give a batter a 2nd chance to see a guy. Theoretically, your starter could face the lineup once thru, 3 up 3 down. Bottom or Top of 4, run a new guy out there. He could do the same. That gets you to the 7th and then you can go situational and work your way to your closer. All the while, the opponent never gets a lot of comfortable swings.
For all intents and purposes, this is what managers will try to do for midweek games, plus get some other guys some ABs and time in the field. The pitching doesn't always agree with the strike zone, or a coach gets talked out of changing it up because a guy is pounding the zone with a bunch of strikes.

So what regional do we expect to be in?

So who is the odd man out and what is their new role? I'd assume probably Ras, especially since he has some relief experience. The trickle down effect of this is so big because it not only gives up back a Top 15 pick arm but also supplements the shaky part of our pen.
Connor Prielipp (career) - 26.0 IP, 0.00 ERA, 0.62 WHIP
Dylan Smith - 45.1 IP, 2.58 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, .226 BAA
Antoine Jean - 26.0 IP, 2.42 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, .215 BAA
Tyler Ras - 44.1 IP, 3.45 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, .238 BAA
