I know it’s not the greatest thing to eavesdrop but he was talking to some pro scouts and brought up some very interesting points. He mentioned on tape he saw bama had very limited depth and knew that could take extreme advantage of it. Said he would see players have loaf plays up to 10 plays in a row ( by what they consider a loaf play) and bama would still sub nobody in. He also said that he was not surprised at how well they played. He also brought up the ND game and that he was shocked that they bracketed renfrow late In the half and knew it was easy money with their outside WRs. He was asked about the Tony brown situation (because Renfrow is there) didn’t say much other than “yeah he was that crazy player last year when they beat us. Saw it on social media.” Lastly he brought up the players testing positive and he said the program was spending crazy money to figure out where it came from. He said there’s a couple of players he may have questioned if they actually took something willingly but with the Guys that did test positive he believed that were completely innocent.

Sorry for the long text guys but I thought it was too interesting not to share. It’s really cool to see how a guy like him actually operates and not just the press conferences.

Also said he has to fly to DC, Jacksonville, and then Philadelphia all in about a day for recruiting. Lol that job def comes with some caveats

Ouch
We need to play the young guys early and often next year and get them ready. And no injuries would be nice too. Had about 5 seasons worth on the defensive side of the ball just the last 2 years.

If they missed this that would've been a really poor coaching job. We weren't subbing the DL at all, they were getting gassed much of the year and we had no depth at inside or outside backer. This year's injury plague absolutely killed us and left 4 different position groups ridiculously thin.

Someone should pass this on to Boz. Let’s get this fixed for next year.

Why is it only Bama OC's or DC's get offers to be HC's and not Clemson's? As far as I know only Brent has been offered a HC position and that wasn't any big name school's.

They probably do get behind the scene offers. The issue is that they clearly are not entertaining those offers like our assistants are.

But did you punch him in the dick?
If not you don't have enough Bama in you.

Wonder which players he’s talking about

Ok so a OC making a million is going to decline a HC position at a college that pays 2.5 just to stick around Kirby?
Kirby from 1.5 to 3.5
Pruitt from 1.5 to 3 million
Big Mike....the same
They're not getting offers from the bigger schools.

imo, the primary reason is pretty simple. the difference is having sabans name attached and having dabos name attached.

I think I read somewhere that either Scott or the other co-OC (Elliott) interviewed with GA Tech and was interested...

Not difficult to be satisfied when you make 2.5 million? Which is matching or more than most HCs. Only have to worry about one side of the ball and get to see your kid every day. The only thing he is forgoing is being the head honcho..which has its perks and downsides. Not a bad gig
