It’s pointless to try and reason with them. They’re foaming at the mouth.

One of the witnesses in the federal trial said he paid people to pay Alabama players from 2000 to 2014.

From what I read, he said he paid players from 7 or 8 schools, including Bama, in that timeframe; doesn't necessarily mean he paid Bama players during that entire period...

From another article I read, even if this witness is credible, the statute of limitations for the NCAA is ~4 years so, unless there are some extenuating circumstances, Bama will probably avoid a hit. Could change if this witness starts naming particular players he paid and/or if there's a paper trail...

Another wrinkle is that he said he was paying players in the hopes they would sign with him as a financial adviser when they made it to the NFL. He wasn't paying them to sign with Bama (i.e. he wasn't making "strong-a$$ offers").

AFAIK, he hasn't named any specific Bama players in his testimony.

This isn't good because it was made clear to us last time we were before the COI for major violations what the punishment was going to be if we had to come back......

I feel like this is the only appropriate response to your statement.

Surprised that you didn’t say that, “you’ve heard some things,” and “it is going to get interesting in a couple of weeks/during the summer.”

The NCAA is a joke now. The investigations into Miami and NC proved that.

Unless Bama pulled a Ole Miss and someone says a coach or booster paid a player. Nothing is going to happen.
