Anything less than 15-0 this year is a disappointment

We have been absolutely dominant this decade with four national championships. But one thing has alluded us these past 10 years and that one thing has been perfection. All the great dynasties placed an exclamation mark on their decade of dominance with undefeated seasons. In the 60s you had 1961 and 1966 Alabama with perfect 11-0 seasons. In the 70s you had Alabama again with that perfected 12-0 record to cap off the decade in 1979. The Hurricanes of Miami punctuated their dominance of the 80s with an undefeated season in 1987. And, of course, who can forget the 90s rendition of FSU? As dominant as they were that decade, perfection had remained elusive for them until that 12-0 season that put together in 1999.
We have the talent to do it this year. Clemson is likely going to take a small step back with everything they lost on defense, but Georgia will still remain a big threat to us in the SEC. Other than that, our schedule lines up perfectly for a truly dominant run in 2019. We absolutely NEED to cap off the 2010s with a perfect season and I think we have the tools and motivation to do it.

Plenty of Bama teams have had this. It's just a question of putting it all together 15 times in a row, which generally takes a little luck. Most of the teams you mentioned in your post only had to win 12 games to run the table.
An undefeated regular season schedule in the SEC, then the SEC championship, then two Top 4 teams back to back is a tougher road than any team has handled.

Well any loss is a disappointment, and I would love nothing more than a 15-0 season - I would still be pretty happy going 14-1 and winning the national championship.

So if we go 14 and 1 and win a NC you would be disappointed?
I know I wouldn't.

I would be happy, but I’d still be disappointed.

Who do you see beating us?
I don't think it's any particular team so much as having to roll the dice 15 times without having a bad game against an inspired opponent.

They aren't traps if you see them.

I'd like to always win every game we play, but I gotta completely and fundamentally disagree with the sentiment in the OP. Bama doesn't NEED to do anything more than give 100%, have fun playing a game, and let the chips fall where they may. Anything more regarding pressure or expectation is spoiled fan horseshite.

The word would be "eluding"

We started ours off with one, boo hoo.

Wow. Not even trying to be rude, but you might want to adjust your expectations and maybe just your priorities in general. You’re implying that a season ending in a national title wouldn’t be good enough. Think about that.

Clemson did lose a lot on defense and will take a small step back in that side of the ball. However, just like us with Tua his first year, they’ve seen what Goldilocks can do. They will take the training wheels off and turn him and Justyn Ross loose on the powderpuff ACC and just put the hammer down and outscore teams until January. I hope they suffer the same fate we did with similar circumstances last year and it bites them in the arse too. But make no mistake. They will be formidable again and I’d be shocked if they aren’t in the playoffs.
If you’re looking for land mines on Bama’s schedule, look at @ South Carolina, @ aTm, LSU, @ Mississippi State and @ Auburn. Then you’ve got the East winner, probably UGA or Florida, then hopefully the playoffs. There’s plenty of potential pitfalls in that group with new coordinators. 15-0 is a tall order for any team and we don’t have the luxury of playing Louisville and North Carolina in conference. I’ll be happy just to win another natty. Anything else like 15-0 or paying back Clemson is just a cherry on top of the sundae.

I always expect perfection. It's always been Bama's standard.

I hope we go 15-0, but you cannot compare going 15-0 in the current system to the 60s or 70s.
To win the national title in 2018 Alabama would have had to beat #6 Georgia, #3 Oklahoma and #2 Clemson.......in addition to the 12 regular season games against numerous ranked teams.
The gauntlet today is uncomparable to going 10-0 against a top heavy SEC and 1-2 good OOC games and then playing a top 5/10 team in the Sugar Bowl. The first time a SEC team goes 15-0 it will rightfully be called the most impressive CFB season of all time.

Complete and utter bullsh*t. The standard is not undefeated perfection, it’s doing what it takes to win a championship, even if you stumble. Undefeated seasons against the SEC West and other tough opponents in this day and time are virtually impossible. Would it be nice to have another 2009? Do we want to win every game? Sure, but winning when it matters is what matters.

And think what another 2009 would actually be in 2019 in all likelihood.......
- 12-0 Regular Season
- W vs #1 Florida (SECCG)
- W vs #4 TCU/Boise (Semi-final)
- W vs #3 Florida/#2 Texas (probably Florida again) (National Title)

Comparing the 60s and 70s to today 11-0 in 1966 with no scholarship limitations at all, 12-0 in 1979 with a limit of 95, vs 15-0 and a limit of 85, less practice Time allowed, and a guaranteed year end finish against 2 top 4 teams plus the SEC east champion. No comparison at all.

Bama has a talent advantage in virtually every game. So effectively your saying we should lay an egg 7% of the time.
I think not.
I think not.
