I'm not saying this is the hire I want, I'm just saying I don't think Alabama is going to make a home run hire, and it makes sense on paper.

-Born and raised in Alabama
-Played college basketball at Alabama, and was an assistant coach at Alabama from 1995-1997
-Once said he "hated Kentucky with a passion"

-Overall 355–250
Tournaments 7–8 (NCAA Division I)
3–7 (NIT)

NCAA Division I Regional—Final Four (2002)
Big Ten regular season(2002)
C-USA regular season (2011)
4 SWAC regular season (2013, 2015–2017)
4 SWAC Tournament (2014, 2015, 2017, 2018)
Awards
C-USA Coach of the Year (2011)
3× SWAC Coach of the Year (2013, 2015, 2016)

If that happens, I will be more pissed than if Avery Johnson had been retained for another year.

Same. It's just something I could absolutely see happening if Alabama plays it safe with the next hire lol

Yeah I would bet you my entire bank account. You think our department doesn’t know what a disaster he was at UAB? And I’m not just talking about record.

Like him or not, Mike Davis would be an improvement over Avery.

Davis sealed his fate with Bama once he took the UAB job, in my opinion

There are other more high profile openings like UCLA, UNLV, and depending on how much A&M spends that Bama will have to contend with. Also, we don't know what's going to happen at LSU.

Buzz will end up at A&M so I stopped even thinking about that opening and Buzz

UCLA is a mystery. I have no idea what they will do. Gregg Marshall?? Are they seriously pursuing Cal?

This LSU thing will drag out. It's a mess.

As far as UNLV, I have no clue what they will do

Davis will never be the coach at Bama. I feel pretty confident saying that

Some coaches are bad fits, don't do as well at major programs but succeed nicely in lower pressurized programs. I've seen many examples in football. Mike Davis is that example in basketball.

Take a little time away and get yourself in order. Learn to read someone else's post carefully, and post like a responsible adult.

Thank you\\

Doesn't Davis have a son who is a high profile recruit?

LSU may go the cheap route and just hire their assistant if he has a good run in the tournament.

I don't see Mike Davis ever being anything more than an assistant here

How could you possibly think this? Greg Byrne is leading this search. It's not amateur hour.
