I was told today or tomorrow.

I was also told that they have 25,000 championship tickets and very little demand. I expect to get championship tickets, and I only have about 200 points.

Very high demand for the semifinal.

Yea, that's how it usually goes. Dont figure I'll get them but just wanted to make sure I didnt accidently trash the email.

They sent out a mass email to anybody who has signed up for TidePride (not donors, everyone including wait list) telling them they could buy national title tickets.

I've got 450 pts or so. I've never gotten semifinal tickets and have always gotten natty tickets. The difference in allocation from the bowls/natty is crazy.

I got that email. I went ahead and got championship tickets, but would probably sell them. I expect value to skyrocket if Notre Dame upsets Clemson. It's a pricey gamble though. If I don't go to Miami, I may go ahead and go to CA.

Yea I declined them even though too. A few years ago I bought the extras (Phoenix) and almost had to eat them until my brother used them last minute.

If its us and Clemson out there I really wouldn't be shocked to see some empty seats. If its Notre Dame it'll be a mad house.

We're planning to just drive to Miami. Plane tickets to the Bay are the same or cheaper than Miami and there are 5 billion Airbnb's within 30 miles of SF/Santa Clara/Napa. But as usual the problem is you only have 6 days to figure out flights and it ends up being a fortune.

We are going to Miami, but California will be a stretch this year. We will prob order our tickets anyway an sell them if necessary.

If you have a Capital One World level or higher Credit Card you will be able to purchase through them as well.

If they changed the gap to two full weeks do you think it would make this any easier?

Not really, but maybe a bit for flights. I have a feeling were gonna get a buuuunnnch of media write ups about how the title game has to be in a CFB centric area and it's too expensive for people after they have a 75% full stadium this year.

And that stadium is a logistical nightmare to get to. I still can't believe it's being played there.

But maybe it's improved since I was there a few years ago.

I must not be on the waiting list anymore.

Just got the email and got them.

The cutoff was only 163 pts. I've never gotten semis tickets before and got them easily this time.

Wonder if lots of people checked the box on Cotton Bowl and not Orange Bowl.

We passed on the semi tickets this year. But that has always been the tougher game since they are bowl games.

Semi - 13K ticket allotment
Nati - 20K ticket allotment

The Phoenix ticket was the only one where I can honestly say that the tickets were super cheap. I think it had more to do with how hard it was to get a flight to Phoenix. Flights were 1K+ at the time and there is nothing within 4-6 hours of that place.

I think the tickets will be more expensive then that year because you have 3 major airports nearby (OAK, SFO, SJC).

However, I have learned my lesson when buying plane tickets for the finals. You have to buy them ahead of time before the huge increase in price. I always buy Southwest tickets on points, which make them 100% refundable.

Yep that's what we did that year for Phoenix. Saved us at least $300-400 per ticket.

Yea, which is why I was surprised at the super low pt total this year. Must been a lot of people pass on the semis or pass on the Orange specifically.

Yea I already have some BNA-OAK plane tickets lined up. Hoping I have to use them.

I wonder what the price of the Orange Bowl is going to be when it is all said and done. I don't think Bama or Oklahoma is going to travel in huge numbers. If the price falls enough, I might drive or grab one of those cheap flights to Orlando. However, my wife doesn't want to do the travel back to back weeks.

This is why I am pretty sure if they go to an 8 team or more playoff they will have to have home games the first rounds. No one will travel 3 straight weeks.

Just got my letterman confirmation for orange bowl and national title game. Unfortunately, I will probably be working both games.
