I’ve convinced myself that if CBB is also cancelled that it’s because they don’t want Bama dominating at 2 sports

If they cancel football completely, no chance in hell they’ll have basketball

If football isn't going to be played, then there is no chance basketball will.

How can the NBA resume, but College basketball can't have a season?

Yeah I don’t see them canceling football and then turning around cranking basketball up in November. I think it’s all done.

Well, the bubble, for one.

I do think basketball has a better shot to be played, mainly due to the much smaller parties involved. However, there will be tons of challenges.

College athletics are fundamentally different in terms of liability and all of that compared to any professional sports.

I think there is a better chance for basketball as well . As you said , smaller numbers plus NCAAT money is a bread winner for the NCAA

Most likely.

If flu season gets bad, it’ll likely be canceled as well.

How so? I’ve said it before, but basketball has always been way more likely to happen than football. It’s just way easier to pull off safely due to the ridiculous number of people involved with making a football game happen.

Every person working in the bubble, from commentators to housekeeping, is within a controlled environment. No one gets in without being quarantined for a few days and test negative.

Gotcha. Still seems with a smaller roster and staff that CBB can be played with no fans.

Is the SEC going to the big bubble in Orlando? If not, no way the basketball team gets any more physical protection from this virus than the football team.

Other than the fact that it’s much more manageable numbers to work with?

You made that a question instead of a statement so I'll add, I can't see that the public perception would change dramatically with any college sport. Also, a COVID hit of any magnitude would also seem to affect the smaller team much more in the short run.

If football doesn't make it, the same presidents, administrators, ADs, and coaches can't do a 180 a few weeks later and simply justify the same type of sport liabilities that the football players run.

I could also imagine some seriously unhappy football players if this actually happens, they would be livid.
