I hope Preston is good and Bama gets some solid starts from her.

Is Osorio 100% healthy this year?

She was kinda inconsistent last year and I think that has to do with the injury. When she is on her game, she is damn near unhitable.

Is Preston a 2-way player or gonna be strictly a pitcher? Asking bc I see she is the only one who might have some pop in the bat. Desperately need hitters

Madi Moore took a medical retirement

Damn, I missed this somehow. Definitely could use her experience in the circle especially to rest Osorio in DH or 3 games series. Also the Runyon lost will be difficult but hopefully Bailey Hemphill will bring the power.

Used to be able to see all the home games on WVUA, but since the SECN took over you can't see any games on WVUA whether they're on the SECN or not.

Wish we had some more power hitters and fewer of the slap hitters. We seem to have more than our share of players with poor speed lately as well, with the exception of our slap hitters.

A lot of our gals look like they've never seen a weight room. Some have been there 4 years and made no strides in weight loss/muscle mass/speed and quickness, etc.

Why do they list weights for all male sports, but never list them for the females?

I hate to say it, but Moore was kinda awful last year, but maybe it was due to the injury.

I have a lot of hope for Gettins. I feel like her college and international experience will make her the first backup pretty quickly.

Well every pitcher in the SEC is going to give up hits.. Her being junior versus trotting out a freshman against a conference who puts 10 teams in the NCAAT would have been valuable

Different year, same script. Murphy doesn't change or adapt to the evolution of the game. He uses that same old tired strategy. Find an ace and possibly another young stud pitcher and ride her/them until their arm can't take us any further. To hell with offense, it's all pitching and defense. And yes, that is not a bad strategy if you have a little balance to it with some offense when you need it. It's not a good strategy when you get to the post season and can't hit the ball out of the infield so 1 run allowed is too many. Juice up the offense, Murph, that's all we're asking.

Really looking forward to seeing K.B. Sides this year. I love speed on the base paths and she has the national record for stolen bases with 300 + in high school.

We know it's possible too. His early teams had some of the loudest bats in the whole country, not just the SEC. I remember when Kelly Kretschman and co set home run records seemingly every season.

I remember we used to lead the nation in HR... Those were the times.
But it was also the time we only were really challenged by UT, UF, UGA.

Well that's pretty stupid. The inclement weather all moved through today and tonight. It should be gone and the weather fine tomorrow.

Happy Opening Day!!!

Video of one of our most recent glorious moments.

Shame it's as old as 2014, but, as with every opening day, hope springs anew.

Go get'em girls!
