Feels like we play Texas and Arizona (along with Washington) almost every season at this point.

Apparently we have some sort of ‘home and home’ tournament series going on with Texas - in the press conference Murphy said Texas would be coming back to Rhodes again next season.

Not sure anyone will ever know for sure but the ballpark scuttle butt was she was asked to change positions from short stop (with Claire Jenkins returning from injury this year) and she didn’t want to. I initially heard she was asked to move to second base and later heard she was asked to move to catcher. Not sure if either of those is accurate. The common theme was she was asked to move to another position and apparently didn’t want to. Sounds like discussions went south and she decided to leave. From the fan perspective, it was certainly surprising - All SEC freshman, strong hitter, great speed and good on the field, seemingly tremendous future.
But even more surprising - I heard a few weeks ago she might have to sit this year, which is somewhat unusual for a player transferring from Bama....

This team is absolutely stacked up and down the roster. Veteran players combined with some of the best young players in the country. The pitching staff alone is ridiculous. Anything less than a world series appearance if not championship game is coaching malpractice. Unfortunately it seems like Murphy regularly does less with more. Last season's start with the talent on hand was inexcusable. Hopefully he learned something from that debacle.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – This weekend's Texas Classic tournament has been canceled due to projected freezing temperatures and inclement weather in Austin, Texas.
Alabama softball is currently pursuing other opportunities to play this weekend and those details will be announced should game(s) be added.
