Why the excitement? To avenge 1984?

To me, this just seems like another opportunity for "they ain't played nobody, PAWWWWWL."

And some really good fries in spite of the shitty service at The Varsity.

I'll hold my excitement until I see who else we schedule for those years.

It’s 2030. Who knows how good Tech can be then.

Could you have imagined Clemson becoming what they are after walking off the field in the 2008 opener?

I like it. Tech is a Power 5 school and an old SEC rival. Close drive. Should be fun.

Their ceiling is the middle of the pack in the ASheShe.

That's not very good.

The fact that teams are having to schedule this far out in order to hope to get a competent opponent is absurd and not good for the sport. I do think the SEC will probably be at a 9-game schedule by this point, meaning I wouldn't really expect oo much in terms of quality opponents.

With that said, GT could be a top 25 team by then or they could be complete trash. Just impossible to know. Hell, the same goes for Oklahoma and Notre Dame and FSU, who we have scheduled years out.

That's just not true. They historically probably fall there on average, but their ceiling is much higher. They played in multiple NY6 games under Paul Johnson.

For Bobby Dodd being such a bitch

For Bill Curry for being a such a tool and never beating Auburn.

Grant Field is a great place for a football game. Tech is an old rival. I live 5 stops up the Gold Line.

I'd hope we find another, better P5 game and this is our secondary one.

To this point, it does look like that's what our scheduling plan has been for future years.

Except for having 2 men for every woman on campus and high academic standards, GT has all the ingredients to be a modern power. They may be good in a decade.

1. It doesn't mean shite because just look at what Clemson has done the past 2 years. Record matters more than SoS, unless you are a G5 team, like it or not.

2. I'm hoping it's not the best OOC game we will get for that year.

3. Hope I'm still alive to see it.
