So Bama guys in the super bowl Reggie Ragland, Gehrig Dieter (practice squad), and Demeco Ryans (ILB coach).

I didn’t know Demeco Ryan’s was an ILB coach in the NFL. One day he may need to come home to Tuscaloosa and be our DC.

Yep it’s down to only one former Bama player that’s left to win a Super Bowl this year and Ragland doesn’t start. I think he had one sack on the entire season against Denver in week 7. That’s all I could find on Reggie. He was sure as hell was an important piece to the 2015 NC.

He's played well for the Chiefs this year. They use him against heavier offensive personnel, but he has actually been good in coverage this year too.

Reuben Foster’s knee injury was even worse than we knew.

quote:

According to his agent Malki Kawa, Foster's trip included a significant milestone as the linebacker attempts to recover from a torn ACL, LCL and MCL, suffered in practice with the Washington Redskins last May. For the first time, Kawa disclosed that Foster also sustained nerve damage. Foster couldn't feel his toes for the last several months -- that ended this week with an optimistic development.

"He's got feeling in his toes, the underside of his foot, the side of his foot," Kawa said by phone from South America. "The nerve is starting to fire again."

How sad for Reuben. He has paid his dues, needs to see them pay off.
Hope he can play football again. But on the other hand ,with his style of play,it might be better for him to just retire and avoid further damage to his body.
Tough decision. Just wanted him to secure his future with a few years in the league.

It looks like things are looking up for him with the nerves getting better. I expect to see him on the field in September.

I know this isn't technically Bama NFL alum related but I think this is pretty cool being from Alabama and being a 49ers fan.

Jimmie Ward and Jaquiski Tartt the starting safeties for the 49ers went to Davidson High School in Mobile and played together in the same secondary. The odds that they would both make the NFL, end up on the same team, start and play in the SB together are insane.

The 49ers’ starting safeties in Super Bowl 54 were a dynamic duo in high school too

No thanks for posting Carlton I’m from Mobile and played in the same division as Davidson in 6A ball. Good link and you’re still the human search engine of our board.

Good I’m glad Freddie is back on a staff coaching. Eventually I’d like to see Kitchens land at some other ncaa program besides Bama too see how’d he do recruiting and coaching at that level.
