Name a better duo...The Lions and Ruining HoF Careers.

Matt Stafford, Calvin Johnson, and Barry Sanders.

I would say wasting not ruining and then I would take Stafford off that list. The other thing is that since both Sanders and Johnson retired so early it isn’t completely fair cause you never know if they could have gotten a division or SB on the back. I believe they both had at least 3-5 all pro seasons left in them when they retired.

I don't think he is an Auto-HoF player but I think you COULD make a case.

Does being a top 20 QB without awards make you a HoFer?

Stats Category(Career Rank):
Passing TD (17)
Passing YPG (3)
Comebacks (8)
Game Winning Drives (10)
Passer Rating (21)
Passes Completed (16)
Passes Attempted (19)
Total Offense (16)

No chance he gets into the HoF. One Pro Bowl, zero All Pros, and maybe one season at the most as a top 5 QB. Those volume stats do not matter. Joe Montana wasn’t a 4K yard passer, but now your average starter could throw for 4K yards. Everyone puts up big numbers now.

The awards do matter. SuperBowls can supersede them. Ken Anderson and Boomer Eiason ranked top 20 on the all time lists numbers wise at retirement but neither are in the HOF despite having MVPs. There’s only one modern era player in the HOF that never made a first team All Pro, and that’s Troy Aikman. But he has 3 SBs and a SB MVP. Eli Manning will join him at some point because of his own 2 SBs.

Yeah I think he would be a really big stretch for the HoF. He seems to be in the Matt Ryan, Eli Manning, Caron Palmer class of QBs and the only one in that group that is even being considered would be Eli because of the SBs and there are plenty of people who don't believe Eli is a HoF. Interested to see what happens with Philip Rivers.

Coop should be a focus of this offense. Instead they do the opposite. Out thinking themselves.

Washington looks good btw.

14/17 for 97 yards is classic Alex Smith . Happy to see him healthy though.

Washington literally doesn’t throw to their WRs at all. What the heck. Just backs and TE.

That is just Alex Smith's M.O. Unless it is wide open he rarely throws it to outside receivers. He should have just put it up to the receiver outside one on one, on that pick and he got scared. He was the exact same way in San Francisco and Kansas City. It is whu he got replaced by Kapernick and Mahomes.
