I'm still not a fan of this new regional format the NCAA went to a few years ago.

But let's go ladies!

I missed it (somehow) but SEC Inside this week was the SEC Gymnastics championship meet. It’s available on demand on the SEC Network. Here’s a snippet (Luisa’s beam routine that put Bama over the top).

The SEC Network always seems to knock SEC Inside out of the park.

Just finished watching it. Kept wondering when they were going to get to Bama . The entire last segment was dedicated to Bama’s performance. Still can’t believe the ladies came on so strong start to finish. Hope they carry the mojo into regionals next Friday (and Saturday). Roll Tide!

That was my thought too. About the half way mark I was like "Are they ever going to MENTION Alabama?"

Through nine meets this season, Blanco has won 18 individual titles, including six on the balance beam and three each on the vault and uneven bars. She owns the second highest all-around average in the nation and the highest in the Southeastern Conference by almost a tenth (39.646). Blanco also had the highest balance beam average (9.925) in the conference and third highest in the nation. She is the only Crimson Tide gymnast with two scores of 39.800-or-better.

The Auburn gymnastics team will not compete at the 2021 NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional Championship this weekend due to positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing within the program.

The action is consistent with COVID-19 management requirements put forth by the NCAA and the Southeastern Conference. LINK

No. 7 Alabama Gymnastics' Road to Nationals Starts in Tuscaloosa (SI)

Alabama opens up regional competition Friday afternoon against No. 10 Arkansas, Iowa and Iowa State
quote:

Prior to 2019, there were six regional sites with six teams each and only one day of competition. The top two teams from each region would advance to nationals making 12 teams total.

Now there are four regions with nine teams each, spread across three days of competition. Still the top two teams from each region advance, but this means only eight teams make it to nationals compared to 12.
