They certainly did.

@EthicalSkeptic
Now, four charts sum up this entire Pandemic.
1. We did not know what we were doing academically wrt this epidemiology & risk scenario
2. Our state admins were unequipped/untrained
3. Our state-level politicians Lemming-Cycle panicked
4. Situation was exploited by extremists

Sad story. I do not blame this young man at all.
I don't blame him, but I also don't believe that distancing himself from the football team/games is necessarily going to help his chances of being covid-free all that much, unless his plan is going to be to shut himself inside away from the the public until there is a vaccine.

He had four family members die; maybe it is more about his mental health than about playing a sport.

I am just going by what his father said

"He decided that he didn't want to take any chances with the coronavirus going on. You don't want to get out there and get sick and bring it to us, his brother or his teammates," Gainwell Sr. said.

I don't blame him either. I'd be spooked too. I don't think he'll be any safer from the virus outside of football than in it, though. Glad the NCAA is letting him keep his eligibility.

Philadelphia’s Democrat mayor, Jim Kenney, outlawed indoor dining and was then caught dining inside a Maryland restaurant.
As you might imagine, the Philly restaurant owners getting clobbered by Kenney’s stupid and unnecessary outdoor-only policy are not too happy.
“Chefs and restaurant owners in Philadelphia are sizzling hot over a photo showing Mayor Jim Kenney, who banned indoor dining in Philly due to COVID-19, enjoying an indoor restaurant meal in Maryland,” reports Patriot News.
“The restaurant is owned by the mayor’s friend; but the chefs fume that the mayor is a job-killing hypocrite.”
The mayor’s office confirmed it was him dining in.

The most powerful elected US Democrat, Nancy Pelosi, has been pictured in an indoor hair salon in San Francisco, in breach of coronavirus-prevention rules.
Ms Pelosi was also seen with a face mask around her neck rather than over her mouth. She has criticised President Donald Trump for not wearing a mask.
San Francisco's pandemic orders do not allow hair salons to open indoors.
A spokesman for California Democrats said she did not realise she was breaking her home city's rules.

Pelosi using her position for personal advantage and then telling lies about it.

just heard a reporter from the Big Ten Conference say there are no new positives from the players that participated in the college football game last weekend. He sounded pretty ticked off that the Big Ten isnt playing (at least not yet). The Ohio St president had a press conference and basically said they have committees that are working on it.
A medical committee and a schedule committee. Obviously she voted to play in the Fall.

Now that Trump has offered federal support to the Big Ten the Nebraska AD is backtracking on wanting to play.

Well, they have 2 committees, one is the medical committee working on protocols on how they can play football safely, and another committee working on schedules. Obviously they are trying to figure out how and when to play. Some of the schools up there dont intend to play no matter when they start. The Nebraska fans, coaches, and players all want to play. The AD knows they will lose millions if they dont play and his but will be on a frying pan.

Predictably once College Campuses opened up our Rt has risen back above 1.0. It’s expected and should t be a big deal because College kids aren’t gonna die from this

That's not really why Rt went back over 1. There were 2 days where the new cases were over 1.500 one day and then over 1,200 the next. ADPH actually put out a press release explaining the bump. There was a lab that had been testing since the end of July but didn't send results in until August 29th - so you got the regular totals plus an entire month's worth of positives from that lab in 2 days time. The days before and after that dump haven't been outside the norm for the last few weeks.
The college outbreaks are probably keeping the overall numbers from being a lot lower, but as of now it doesn't look like they're driving a statewide spike.

Would that be a lab owned by Quest Diagnostics who Gov. DeSantis just cut ties with in Florida because the dumb asses didn't report like 75,000 positive results until just the other day, and some dated back to April? fricking idiots!

They did not id the lab but that sounds like the same situation.
