It's pandering at it's finest.

After tonight's news we're heading down a road of no return.

God help the U.S.A.

I signed up for a lot of shite when I was in but yet I expect them to take care of anything that happened to me.

Which is probably more money then what I got while I was knee deep in some shite hole in some piss poor third world country. And for the record paramedics make on average around $20+ per hour in CA where Hobby Lobby make less then $10.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg died.

Marxist scum have already pledged to riot if the President tries to replace her before the election.

Isn't inciting nation-wide rioting and anarchy a serious treasonous crime? Yes, it certainly is.

So, covertly arrest them and dump them at the north pole from an airplane at very high altitude. They'll crystalize and then shatter. Or ball & chain them and dump them into the open ocean or a volcano full of fiery molten lava. Game over.

I'm serious. And that's all I have to say about it.

Wait, isn't it the President's job to appoint a nominee to fill RBG's seat? So the Democrats should STFU and let the President carry out his Constitutional duties and they carry out theirs of vetting the nominee and either confirming them or denying them.

Having said that, the Republicans have a really hard time justifying it since they stupidly told Obama he shouldn't appoint a replacement before the election. I guess the justification for it is that he wasn't going to be President regardless of who won the election, so he should wait, but now that is being used against the Republicans. I can see the Democrats point.

The difference is there was a Republican Senate in 2016 when Merrick Garland was nominated by Obama. He would not have been confirmed, therefore holding a vote was pointless. The Republicans still hold the Senate, and despite a few holdouts, they appear to have the 51 votes necessary to confirm.

Harry Reid should never have pushed and passed the Nuclear Option. McConnell warned them when they did it and now it's coming back to bite them in the arse.

It goes both ways. In 2016 plenty of prominent Democrats (Biden, Obama, Schumer, Pelosi, etc.) were pretty vocal about how it’s their duty to the people to ensure the Court never has a vacancy for long. They wanted it done before the election. The Republicans like you said opposed. Now it’s the exact opposite.

If it was flipped this year with the Dems being able to do it they would. Tired of both parties to be honest because neither can identify with the people anymore.

Also seems Covid is being ignored again. It’s once again perfectly acceptable to gather shoulder to shoulder to protest while the media, academics, celebrities, and politicians (all who previously opposed gathering) encourage it.

I told my wife this was going to happen on Friday night when the news of her death came out.

The virus we've all been told to cower in fear from is going to be forgotten about politically because an 87 year old woman died from cancer.

Actually it would not have been pointless. That would have been the better way to handle it and if they had taken that approach the left would not have a talking point now.

I think McConnell was trying to avoid embarrassing President Obama on his way out the door by Borking his nominee. It has now bit him in the arse. Two R senators have said they don’t support voting before the election. The only way Trump gets this appointment confirmed is if he wins a second term. Sucks but that’s just the way it is and Mitch is to blame for it.

That doesn't mean they won't vote, though.

Even if they abstain the count would be 51-47 in favor of the Republicans.

One of the Texas senators announced today he would confirm Trump's nominee even if he lost the election.

May not be enough. If Kelly wins the AZ seat he takes it immediately, That means 49 if Collins, Ms Alaska, and Romney sit it out.

Romney said he supports the vote.
Republicans say they have the numbers to vote.
