Five-star SF Brandon Miller sets commitment date

Brandon Miller, the No. 16 overall prospect in the 2022 class, will announce his college decision on November 1st, he announced.

The 6-foot-8, 200-pound five-star prospect out of Antioch (Tenn.) Cane Ridge is down to five options: Alabama, Kansas, Tennessee State, the G League Ignite and the NBL.

He recently added Kansas into his finalists and completed visits with the Jayhawks as well as Alabama and visited the G League Ignite facility.

In a recent interview with 247Sports, Miller broke down his finalists.

Alabama: "It's a good program, coach [Nate] Oats and all their coaching staff have nice players. Their play-style is good and their coaching and facilities are good. I visited there before so I have seen that. Jaden Bradley has been recruiting me before he even went there."

G League Ignite: "I'm supposed to be flying up there to California in a couple of weeks to visit to see a practice so I don't know too much about it."

Kansas: "I got a visit with them coming up with them thee week after this week so I will have to describe that after the visit because I have only seen their campus on Zooms. Zoom can't tell it all."

NBL: "I don't really know a lot about that one because it's in Australia and I have never been out of the country so that's different too."

Tennessee State: "It's an HBCU and Robert Covington went there so it's just something different."

Miller had previously set a commitment date for September 27th but decided to push it back in order to think things through.

He currently holds three Crystal Ball predictions in favor of the Crimson Tide.

Those quotes about each of his finalists are around three weeks old so take them with a grain of salt. Miller has taken a visit to Kansas since then and I believe he also took a visit to learn more about G League Ignite as well.

This is from Noah Clowney, so now Clowney and Brandon Miller are both announcing their commitment on November 1st.

No inside information at all, but I think the secret/surprise Official Visitor for this weekend may be Rylan Griffen. A few days ago there was an article on him that said he was going to take his last OV to Alabama and that it would happen at some point in October with a commitment date for some time in mid November.

Makes me think it is probably him.

Impossible to know right now, but we could have 5-6 spots to fill through class of 22 and the portal. Just have to see how it plays out.

Will someone with an On3 subscription let us know what is mentioned about Alabama’s targets in this article?

76 prospects in the On3 100 have already committed to a school, prior to the early signing period (Nov. 10-17). This means only 24 players remain on the board and uncommitted.

Let’s take a look at the top 10 remaining uncommitted prospects and where things stand with their recruitments.......

(Skipping irrelevant info)

SF Brandon Miller – 4-stars
Brandon Miller, a 6-foot-8 small forward out of Antioch (Tenn.) Cane Ridge, has also had an interesting recruitment.

In August, Miller was considering eight options – Kentucky, Alabama, Tennessee State, Tennessee, Kansas, Florida, the NBL, and the NBA G-League. At that point, the chatter was he would turn pro.

However in September cut his list to four – Alabama, Tennessee State, the NBL, and the NBA G-League. Now, the chatter is he will go to college.

Earlier this month, Miller added Kansas back into consideration and visited the Jayhawks officially this past weekend.

Miller will likely decide early next month, with Kansas and Alabama being the presumed favorites.

On3 Ranking: No. 17 overall

PF Jarace Walker – 4-stars
Jarace Walker, a 6-foot-8 power forward out of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, announced his seven finalists in late August. Auburn, Houston, LSU, Texas, Maryland, Alabama, and the NBA G-League made the cut.

Walker has visited LSU, Alabama, Auburn, and will visit Houston at the end of the month. Walker canceled his visit to Texas.

If I had to guess, I’d say the leaders are Alabama and Houston.

Here's another article on there....

Top-20 recruit Brandon Miller will announce his post-HS decision Nov. 1

Antioch (Tenn.) Cane Ridge four-star small forward Brandon Miller will announce his plans for the 2022-23 season on Nov. 1, he told On3’s Joe Tipton on Monday.

He is choosing between going to college at Alabama, Kansas or Tennessee State, or turning professional in the NBL or NBA G-League.

Miller is the No. 17 overall recruit in the On3 2022 Top 100 and the fourth-best pure small forward in the class.

He had decided on a top four of Alabama, Tennessee State, NBL and the G-League and was going to announce his decision on Sept. 27. However, he pushed the decision back indefinitely after he elected to reconsider Kansas.

Brandon Miller visited the Jayhawks this past weekend. He has previously been on official visits to Alabama and Tennessee State.

He has actually been on two official visits to the Crimson Tide, visiting in July and then in late September.

Tennessee State is an HBCU located in Nashville and is about a 15-minute drive from Miller’s hometown. The Tigers are one of three HBCUs not in an all-HBCU conference at the Division I level. Tennessee State competes in the Ohio Valley Conference.

“It would definitely be different than others because it’s an HBCU,” Brandon Miller told Tipton earlier this year. “I know they have a good coaching staff over there because coach Penny (Collins) is one of my cousins. I know a lot of people who came out of TSU – Robert Covington – and you see where he’s at now. That just lets you know anything can be done.”

Thank you

Sounds mostly positive for us, but I still don’t feel as confident in either of them as I’d like to.

Jarace Walker, 2022 elite forward, cuts list to 3

Jarace Walker, a 6-foot-8 power forward out of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy is down to three schools – Alabama, Auburn, and Houston, sources told On3.

Walker will no longer consider Texas, Maryland, LSU, and the NBA G-League.

Walker is the No. 5 ranked power forward in the On3 100 rankings, and the No. 32 overall prospect. He has taken official visits to each of his finalists but does not currently have a timetable for a commitment.

Scouting Report on Walker

On3’s Senior National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton had this to say about Jarace Walker:

“Walker is one of the top hybrid four men in the country. He works to impact the game scoring, rebounding and setting up a bucket for a teammate. Best passing the ball off the bounce. Displayed an efficient mid-range game in July. Strong and athletic, Walker has the ability to take contact and power up off the floor to finish at the rim. That strength, ability to be a two-foot jumper above the rim, and broad shoulders also an asset snatching rebounds.”

So in about 2 weeks, we'll know about both of our last 5 star recruits. I'll be glad when it's over, and we can move towards filling out our class.
