This is an interview of Jared Butler after he signed. Sounds like we got really lucky with Butler. He pretty much admits Virginia taking the other PG didn't make him happy.

Looks like it's basically confirmed that we aren't getting Woodard. @AlabamaMBB released an article on twitter that talked about the 2018 class and all the signees as if it was complete. Avery talked about it earlier as well.

I think we have a solid class and 2019 could be great because I see us getting Lewis , Watford, and Wiseman is a possibility even. Fleming and butler are underrated talents though and will help next yr.

Stewart was the first miss. We really liked him. I heard back in summer that he was #2 on board ahead of Woodard and behind Butler.

I think this 2018 class is a good long term class.
Butler, Fleming, and Wood can all be good players over four years for us.
Butler is the only one who has the potential to go pro early.

Refresh my memory on who Stewart is?

DJ Stewart. He committed to Mississippi State fairly early in the process. I didn't think our staff pushed that hard for him but Gongora would know a heck of a lot better than me on that.

Ahh, completely forgot about him somehow.
And yes, having Gongora around here is awesome. I thoroughly enjoy the insight in his posts.

So Butler was number one on our list? I was really high on Stewart. His film is incredible.

Thanks guys!
And yes, Butler became our #1 target about the same time Mack came aboard.

Trendon Watford was watching the Alabama game last night...
Considering this was just an SECN+ game, I'd consider that good news.

He talks up Bama a lot. Football and basketball wise. A lot of us and we in his tweets as well.

@JustinDYoung (HoopSeen)
No Indiana. I've actually heard this myself

Brilliant effort for Trendon Watford in Mountain Brook win over Norcross. Scored 29 of his 36 in 2nd half. Lived at FT line. 16-20 there. Said Alabama, FSU, TCU and LSU involved.

Nothing surprises me in basketball with the way the coaches have interaction with the kids.

Jamie Dixon is at TCU now. He's already made them relevant.

He is the Mark Richt of basketball.
-Won a ton of games at Pitt
-Always ranked high regular season then fall flat
-Consistently failed to win championships (only 1 Big East)
-Never broke through to next level (No Final 4s despite multiple #1 seeds)
-Pitt/Fans drive him out of town due to lack of top level success
-Returns to Alma mater (TCU) and has immediate turnaround and makes them a relevant basketball program
Dixon needed a change of scenery, just like Richt, to get the fire back. TCU/Dixon benefitted from Pitt driving him out of town

Did not realize that. So Watford may have some legitimate interest there. Thanks.
