Yeah I've already started to emotionally prepare myself for the best basketball team -on paper- that we have had in a very long time to ultimately play 8-12 games in an abbreviated season that is canceled by the NCAA in mid-January.

I think Oats basically said the whole team has already had it. I don’t expect any cancellations to come from our end if that’s the case

tell Pitino he might as well shut up. It would kill TV revenue, in addition to many other problems it would create.
Plus, I dont think the vaccine will solve our covid problems that early. After you get the shot, it takes at least a month before it begins to work. There wont be that many people that take it by February. March madness in June or July is a joke. People have other things to do, especially if they dont have to worry with the virus.

Yep, one player get the virus and the whole team is knocked out for two weeks due to contact tracing.

It is a nightmare for football, but you do have 85 players. There will be so many games cancelled in basketball, that they will eventually cancelled the season.

The only way the whole season happens is if they go the NBA route and play in a bubble, but that would pretty much be impossible for college basketball.

Hope Releford does a good job. He has always been a solid ambassador for us.

The contact tracing has to go. Even the experts are saying if you test negative for 3 consecutive days on days 3,4, and 5, you're clean. They have to revise contact tracing or there's no way basketball happens. One team member or coach gets it, BAM! Your whole team is out for 2 weeks. Not gonna work.

I agree, except that asymptomatic with three negative test results on days 4-6 or 5-7 might be safer citeria (than 3-5). A 3-test protocol for ending quarantines should apply for all college sports & athletes, imo.

Forde is a holier-than-thou douchebag, but it's always fun to read an article that shits all over Auburn. I'm guessing that between what Okie Lite got and Cooper probably looking at being ruled ineligible they really did just decide it would be prudent to self impose the postseason ban in a rebuilding year that coincides with a pandemic that threatens the postseason anyway instead of having it imposed on them during a normal season in which they expect to be competitive. I do hope it's worse than that though. Pearl is a slimeball and watching him go down again would be hilarious.
