They are doing it in hopes that all the ncaa will do further is a slap on the wrist. It also helps that they aren’t expected to be that good which made it an easy decision for them to make. Hopefully the NCAA punishes them further because of Bruce’s past transgressions

So if this season gets cancelled does that self imposed ban move to next year?

No clue.

Media folks are speculating that their NOA which they refuse to release must be pretty bad if this is Auburn trying to kiss up to the NCAA. Let’s hope so.

I think Bruce seen that they sucked and were gonna be on the bubble and decided to go ahead and self impose. I would laugh if the NCAA gave them another year on top of this one

Auburn sure took their time doing this. Might be too little too late.

Also, LSU is about to get clobbered and I can’t wait

They'll change their tune and say they never cared about LSU basketball to begin with - which is somewhat true.

Man it sucks that we can’t have a full student section the year Auburn gets hit. You know Bruce would get harassed

Didn’t Auburn not have the same situation as Bama with an assistant coach?

Sharife Cooper probably ain’t even gonna play for Auburn lol

There is a question if one of the team's newcomers, five-star point guard Sharife Cooper, will be making the trip to Florida due to a question of over his eligibility. Neither Pearl nor other AU officials have commented on Cooper's status for this week's games.

Alabama had an administrative person that we hired from the ncaa. I think the thing that probably separates the 2 is that Ala jumped on it and got a confession from Baker and sent the report to the ncaa. The ncaa didnt have to do anything. Im not sure they would have ever gotten anything if Baker had not confessed.

It couldn’t hurt that we could say to the NCAA “We hired one of YOUR people for a compliance job and he subsequently went rogue.”

For instance, in Duncan's letter referring the LSU case to the IARP, he wrote that enforcement staff had only interviewed 16 of at least 75 individuals who might have knowledge or involvement in violations. He also wrote that many of those 16 individuals would need to be re-interviewed in light of information taken from Wade's cellphone records.

Sounds like everyone involved has been lying and there is evidence to prove it. That's always going to end very poorly if the people caught lying are employed by the school.
