So is JSU going to beat us on a last second 3 or will they dominate from start to finish? Just trying to mentally prepare.

Already prepared for one of their players that averaged 1.2 PPG last season to drop 30 on us and not miss downtown.

Speaking of Jacksonville State, y’all remember when Daniel Giddens had 7 fouls in 9 minutes and we lost the exhibition by almost 30 against them

I know our record hasn’t improved since then, but when you look at our style of play and how we look at times when we’re clicking, we really have come a long way since that moment lol
Edit: I thought for awhile we were about to become a bottom 4 SEC team. Everyone was hiring elite coaches and we were stuck overpaying Avery. We managed to survive tho and get Oats. Still pissed that we paid Avery millions to make the tourney 1/4 years (almost 0/4) and put us on a 3 year probation

Remember when we all convinced ourselves that it wasn't a terrible hire made out of pure desperation after our incompetent former AD allowed himself and the university to be publicly humiliated by a guy who turned out to be a violent, racist psychopath?

I mean, Avery did overachieve his first year with a shite roster. Not gonna lie I was fully bought in after we won in Gainesville and Baton Rouge B2B.
His Best coaching jobs were his first 2 years.

I haven't read much more than headlines about the whole thing but best guess is that their notable big hoops boosters didn't want Marshall coming after the program with a vengeance and inside info on rampant recruiting violations.
