He wouldn’t be eligible until next year and I believe as soon as they are officially in the portal, schools are allowed to contact them. We already have along with a ton of other schools.

For those that are unaware and interested, there is some Nimari Burnett info on the last page or two of the recruiting thread.

Nothing groundbreaking, but what is posted is just about everything I can find at this time. I'll continue to post any new info I come across over there.

John Petty & Alex Reese leaving this team next season will be the most important move under the Nate Oats era. These guys are the softest athletes I’ve ever laid eyes on.

1. You're exposing yourself as someone who either doesn't watch or knows nothing about basketball.
2. I'm as big of a Reese hater as anyone, but something has clicked for him and he's become much more valuable to this team. Not a superstar but definitely contributing now.

Stay out of here with your garbage opinions.

Amen.
“Soft” and “lazy” are two of the worst descriptors used on this Bama bball board.

Reese isn’t a great player, and I get frustrated watching him play, but it’s very clear he is a huge competitor.

Yeah, he makes some frustrating plays but it's been clear from the continual praise Oats gives him in interviews that he likely has that fiery attitude in practice as well.

We would be in a much worse situation if he wasn't on the roster to take some of Bruner's minutes while he's out.

Nate Oats on SEC Now: "Quinerly, things are looking good for him. He's day-to-day. My hope is we have him back by Saturday.

With Herb maybe/likely out really need Quinerly back Saturday. Herb plays a lot of point forward. I know Bama was fine without Quinerly and Herb against UK, but the ball handling/point guard duties gets pretty suspect without those two guys.

Bruner doesn't really have a replacement on this team and I was loving his game. He was just doing everything right offensively and defensively. Going to miss him. Would best case scenario basically be to get him back right before the SEC tournament?

I think 4-6 weeks is the initial timetable we've seen so far.

Six weeks from today is February 25th - SECT starts March 10th.

Maybe we'll get lucky and he can be back on February 24th and play in the last three regular season games.

Maybe we'll get really lucky and he heals at the rapid rate that some athletes seem to these days and he comes back a week earlier than that.

Either way, barring a setback in his recovery he should definitely be back in time for the SECT.

SI - College Basketball Tiers: How 45 Top Teams Stack Up at the Season's Midway Point by Jeremy Woo

quote:

Tier 7: Good, but not completely convincing

Alabama (10–3)
Indiana (8–5)
Louisville (9–1)
Minnesota (10–4)
Oklahoma State (9–3)
Purdue (8–5)
Rutgers (7–4)
Stanford (8–3)
UConn (7–1)
USC (9–2)

It’s hard to get a great bead on these teams, but they all clearly merit some intrigue. I won’t wax poetic on any of them.

quote:

I don’t know whether Alabama and Louisville can stay hot, but it wouldn’t shock me. The Tide’s success feels more pace-driven than talent-driven, but Nate Oats gets things done, they’ve beaten Tennessee already and could hold on to win the conference with a little luck.

I'll take that.

We are going to lose a ton of defensive competence with Bruner being out. Herb is likely going to miss too, I would think, and that speaks for itself. That's two starters and clearly our best two defensive players.

Going to need some guys to step up on both sides of the court, but especially on the defensive side. Hopefully Petty, Primo and Shack (and JQ if he's back) can carry the majority of the offense.

I can't imagine Herb playing Sat. That wrap on his 2 fingers was huge.

Just drive and kick for open 3s, they should be there most of the game.

Arkansas only real path for winning is Bama having an off night from deep and some consistency on the offensive side of the ball.

AU is going be pretty hard to beat by the time we play them again.

Yeah but the good news is that our W in Auburn will probably end up being a Q1 win. It almost is already. I think they're like 79 in NET right now.
