Agreed. I think it boils down to JQ more than anything. We need a high level PG to make this engine run and he just hasn’t been it this year and JD hasn’t been able to fill in and pick up the slack. You couple that with shite defense and here we are. Maybe they find something Saturday? I doubt it but it’s the hope that kills you.

Auburn may lose this game. They are tight. Pressure of being number one.

Shack does crazy stuff at times, and Keon is not assertive enough, but the biggest problems are JQ underperforming massively and the newcomers not contributing nearly enough.

Shack and Ellis are quality sidekicks. There's just no star for them to be the sidekicks to.

Was JD just misevaluated by the recruiting services? Did he play inferior competition in high school? He was supposed to be a one and done type right? His comp on 247 is Ja Morant.

I've been said months ago that JQ was not where he needed to be and his shot just has looked terrible. Shack is still has tunnel vision and he's the same player I've seen since the UCLA game. He will never be a good decision maker and I seen that down the stretch vs Georgia. He is a spot up shooter nothing else...They are both terrible defenders. These two suppose to be on a different level this year but they are not.

JD had a good stat line tonight but he does struggle with defense and he has to get better. Bediako has his moments but he struggle as well with certain aspects of the game.

I can work with all the newcomers but the ones who's been in the system for years shoot you either shape up or your getting shipped out.

Defensively, big time. I think he was considered a work in progress, but even that undersells just how bad he is on defense. His first step also isn't nearly as sudden as you'd expect from an athlete like him. He can fly in transition, but in the halfcourt he struggles to consistently get a step on anyone.

Devan Cambridge like Sucks. He has 1 or 2 games a year where he goes ballistic and can’t miss but every other game he sucks

JQ had a pretty bad mid-season slump last year too, but we weren’t so reliant on him (and I’m not sure it was ever this bad). We just cut his minutes if I remember correctly.

Meanwhile we lost Herb, Petty, Primo, Reese, Bruner, and replaced them with…..

It’s not really a mystery why we’re struggling.

Yeah, no one we added in 2022 has come close to being as productive as the guys they were supposed to replace from last year.

JD/Miles haven’t been close to replacing Petty/Primo.

Gurley/Bediako haven’t been close to Bruner/Reese.

Ellis/Gary haven’t come close to picking up the defense from Herb.

And 2022 JQ hasn’t held a candle to 2021 JQ.
