Hopefully the starting pitching comes around sooner rather than later. We've had a couple disappointing outings so far.

OUr freshmen appear to be good. Doesn't pitching get better as the weather warms up. Cant be good on the arms. We should be deep with pitching. All the guys with arm problems last year, are they back?

Turnbull was just sort of off Friday night. Today, Keller came out strong, had a 3 run 2nd, but managed to get it together for 8K/1BB.

Tucker Hawley is on the roster. He missed last year when he was expected to be one of our best guys. Not real sure what his status is right now though But yea, overall our pitching depth should be the best it's been in a few seasons

From what I have heard he is fine.It looks like he could be our closer or mid reliever.

Alabama wins 7-4 to sweep VMI.The offense looked good again, but the starting pitchers have struggled a little.Sullivan threw 80 pitches and only 45 strikes. He walked 4 or 5 and hit a guy as well.Hopefully we get that fixed by next weekend.Tuesday we have a big game against Southern Miss. They are ranked 23 by Baseball America so it should be a good early test for us.Roll Tide!

Too cool for arms to be loose yet, they will get better - hopefully better will be good enough.

We'll know how good this team is after this week. Like bexie said we play top 25 southern miss midweek and then go play a tough Florida Atlantic team who swept Cincinatti this past weekend. Overall our nonconference schedule is pretty tough. We play Tulane, who isn't as good as in years past, but they are still tough and what looks to be a top 10 or 15 Louisiville team in Louisiville. At least we'll be ready for SEC play.

Anybody around here go to a lot of the games? I want to start going again but most of my friends dont care much for baseball so I cant get them to go.

Also, can you bring in coolers and if so, what are the rules on what you can bring in?

I go to a few every year, usually not til SEC play starts though. Baseball weekends are my favorite in Tuscaloosa, it's laid back but you can still get your tailgate fix. You can't bring coolers into the game. In the past you could tailgate and hang out in right field and see the game and do whatever you wanted to, but now that they've built that monument crap for Sarah Patterson out there I think they killed that. Our administration seems hell bent on generating as little interest as possible for the baseball program.

A few years ago we used to have a platform that we would put up out there and drink and watch the games. Its been a LONG time wince we've done that and that was the last time I went to baseball games.

U don't think Sarah deserves recognition?

She definitely does, but not to the detriment of another program struggling to garner fan/student support.

so the ability to bring a cooler full of beer is a difference maker? If so then I now understand the game of baseball.

If you don't think a cooler of beer on a nice Spring day is a deciding factor for some students on whether to go watch a game they aren't sold on going to, then you've gone full retard. Look at how Ole Miss had turned their games into social events and how their program has benefited.

Bottom line is, if you have a sport that's very popular throughout your league but your program is struggling for support, why would you do ANYTHING to take away from that support? They could've had that monument to Patterson anywhere. It's bad enough our administration is satisfied with a big little league stadium we call home when teams we compete with have parks nicer than minor league stadiums, now they kill part of it's 'atmosphere.'
