Alabama liked playing Western Carolina so much in 2014 that the Crimson Tide are going to run it back in 2019.
Kevin Kelley of FBSchedules.com reported on Monday afternoon that Alabama will host Western Carolina in Tuscaloosa on Nov. 23, 2019. That game will be one week before the Iron Bowl, which will be at Auburn that season.
Alabama previously hosted Western Carolina at Bryant-Denny Stadium in 2014, with the Crimson Tide winning handily 48-14.
An FCS program, Western Carolina plays in the Southern Conference and finished 7-5 overall and 5-3 in conference play last season. The Catamounts will make $525,000 for the 2019 game against the Crimson Tide, according to Kelley.
In addition to the Western Carolina matchup, the Crimson Tide will play three other nonconference games in 2019. All in September, the Crimson Tide will take on Duke in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta then will also host both New Mexico State and Southern Miss later in the month.
This is fricking pathetic.

Really need to change that Duke game or add some quality somewhere else. That schedule is just terrible.
Louisville needs to be the bottom bar for these opening games.

Glass half full: With Tua in his third year at least we will have a lot of time to break in his replacement (younger bro?).

I'd rather keep Duke and get rid of New Mexico State, Western Carolina and USM.

That schedule is embarrassing.

I was going to say there most not be to many options but there are a BUNCH of Power 5 teams that need a game that weekend. This is sad. We are approaching a decade since the home and home with Penn State with this decision. Throw us a bone.
ETA: ok maybe not a bunch but at least 5-10 between the ACC, Big 12, and Pac 12. TCU, Miami, Washington, I would take BC.

Sure, but Duke is our neutral site game and it's the game that we've been using to get a quality OOC opponent with.
The other 3 opponents are somewhat normal cupcakes.
To me, Duke would/should be in the #2 or #3 slot for OOC toughness. Replacing kind of a Fresno St game this past year if you understand what I'm getting at.
We need a top15 opponent added.

Well they were one of the dirtiest teams bama has played in recent memory so let’s have them back
Also we got lucky last year. If Ohio State didn’t have the nuts to bring OU in to their place and instead scheduled Toledo we would not be national champions right now. We were given the benefit of the doubt because FSU was probably a top 15 team with Francois but fricking Duke will not get it done. Sadly this probably won’t change until it bites us Bama in the arse

Meh. There was no way to know when this schedule was made that Louisville wouldn't have their Heisman winning qb. Plus you can't blame our athletic department for Louisville this year or Duke next year. Chick-fil-a schedules the opponent. We just agreed to be in the game.

I'd love a road game at Washington. Even a "neutral" game at CenturyLink.

I can sure blame our athletic department for the other 3 non-conference games.

We've known that our 2019 opponent will be Duke since 2016 and this is the bullshite schedule we end up with.

Next time we need to put in the contract that we can back out if we don't like who the opponent is.

Most of our fanbase is sick of the neutral site games. Not to mention, the shitty OOC schedule on top of it.

If we schedule Washington now they'll be terrible by the time we play them in 4 years and you'll be bitching about playing them.

Well that has no basis in fact.
We know damn well that New Mexico State, Southern Miss, and Western Carolina aren't going to be good in 2019.

Usually when Bama has scheduled a historical top 25 team they ended up pretty good. USC, Penn State, Michigan, Wisconsin and even West Virginia were all resume builders by the end of the year
