Glad you included Nudie. He gets overlooked too often.

On the subject of Shaud Williams, he was in a Bruno episode of the Ali G show and its pretty hilarious.

I was thinking the other day about how good Trent Richardson was back in college.

Do yall think it was just the oline being so good that helped him?

Trent had a vision issue, never learned how to press the hole/cut in the hole, and did not have cutting quickness or great top end speed.

Not that they were so good, we just ran mostly zone and the NFL runs mostly power. Entirely different approach. Zone requires less vision because you are hitting a hole that is designed to be there. Lacy went to Green Bay when they were running more zone. I think our scheme inhibited his development to a degree, but I think that his personal struggles and injuries are ultimately what held him back.

He was the one of the best RBs to ever play CFB, very unfortunate but he's a tough and smart guy. He'll be okay.

wasn't there a Bohanon in the mix in the early 2000's?

Trent's knee was injured coming out of Bama, and he never let himself heal, and it only got worse after that rookie year. That, and he had too many parasites in his life that were not good for him.

Yeah. He was pretty bad. He was the starter at the beginning of 2000 season, but Ahmaad Galloway ran for an 80 yard touchdown in game 2 and was the starter the rest of the year.

Another back that was criminally underused by Shula was Leron McClain

Good gosh...Brandon Miree looks like a tree trunk from head to toe in that picture. Did he not transfer somewhere after only a year or two at Bama?

He transferred to Pittsburgh (put up 7 100 yard games for them). Played two seasons in the NFL.
