I’m sure it has been discussed ad nauseam in other threads, but Najee Harris has become a fricking beast, especially on Saturday. The past 4 games he has 451 yards rushing yards and 5 TDs and 111 yards receiving and 2 TDs. On the season 788 yards rushing and 6 TDs and 215 yards receiving and 5 TDs. He’s really starting to come into his own. I hate that we didn’t use him more in the first half of the game Saturday, but he’s been really good. I’m sure with a gimpy Tua we will rely on him even more the next few weeks.

Najee played a complete, A+ game Saturday. He's become perhaps the most consistent and reliable player on our offense.

It's a damn shame that Sanders got hurt because adding in a home run threat back with Najee would have been really nice. Najee is just incapable of getting more than 25-30 yards on a run.

Positive:
The team continued to battle. They could've come out of the locker room already defeated and ready to get the game over. If that had been the approach, it would've been ugly.

Instead, they battled. Showed that they and LSU are both two of the top 4 teams in the country. LSU's offensive coaching staff called a great game and their QB executed at an incredible level. He's legit.

I could see a few scenarios where we still make it into the playoffs. If so, we'll see what lessons we've learned.

Y’all think Najee leaves early or comes back? Would love for him to stay

That’s definitely been my only knock against Harris. I just looked at his career long run and it was a 35 yarder back in 2017. This season he had a 31 yard run. But having Sanders would’ve definitely made the run game a lot more dynamic.

Generally I'd say he leaves because all running backs leave due to body blows and career life.

However, I'm not sure Najee is going to get great feedback from the NFL. I think he can have a career, but he's going to be a backend pick because of his lack of explosiveness.

I'm really not sure, and haven't really even considered it until now. I wouldn't be completely shocked if he came back.

I didn’t think they had it it then to come out and fight in that 2nd half like that. I admittedly had given up, glad they didn’t have my sorry attitude.

Yea - he just can't run away from guys. He burst through holes like a bat outa hell, but once he clears into the 2nd level he gets run down really quickly.

Agreed. He might as well come back because he's not going to get a high grade in pre draft evaluations. Speed is not there.

Yep - guys like him are looked at as interchangeable pieces.

I think it'd be great to get him back next year, but I can understand any player who thinks his stock is as high as it'll get and wants to make as much money as possible before his body gives out.

I don't understand the previous hate for Najee. Look what he did vs UGA and the second of the NC game, then he had the highest 10+ yard run per carry rate in the SEC last year. Thats consistency.

It never made sense, but it mostly was born out of the fact that he was so highly rated and didn't turn into an elite, All-American type back.

I was wrong about this. I said multiple times they would quit.

Well if the only thing hampering his draft evaluation is his speed, I think he goes anyway.

It's not like he is going to get significantly faster by returning for his senior year.

Yep - agree. It'll probably come down to do I want to come back for one of the "come back for senior year" reasons, or do I want to go ahead and get started in the NFL.

I think Damian Harris had a similar choice and came back, but Najee comes from some rough stuff and it would make sense if he wanted to cash in for his family. Wouldn't blame him a bit.

I said it 100 times I don’t think I’ve been so proud of our team. They fought their asses off in the 2nd half. Literally everything went wrong in the 1st minus Waddle. We will get the 4th spot, and we are going to win.

Eh, only if we play perfect games on offense.

Our defense is not fixable at this point.

We'll get the 4th spot and our inclusion will be the "justification" to expand the playoff just like our rematch of LSU was used as the "justification" to create the playoff.

I wouldn't say it isn't fixable, but certainly people need to not harbor false hope that an elite bama d is going to show up for the playoffs. I think that given the number of freshman, we could see strong improvement during bowl practice in the month of December.

I feel like we typically see a lot of young guys show a ton of improvement in that time, especially if they have played a lot during the season. I think it contributes to the "why wasn't he playing all season" type comments we see in the postseason.
