In the first half.

It's just not the same.

This is correct. I feel no need for sameness for past teams, but we've played tight when the other team played loose.

Georgia 2017, Georgia 2018, Clemson 2019, LSU 2019

Becoming a trend. We are spoiled, but the defense has continued to slip since 2016

Tua’s fumble, dropped punt, 12 men on the field, interception/personal foul before the half. We did many of the same types of things against Clemson.

This was a helluva comeback and second half fight though, George. I'm proud of our boys.

Eh, you gotta look at in the scope of completely different players on different teams. I don't necessarily think that things have "changed" per say, but some groups of players are just better than others. We've been blessed with so many good players, and even the players that aren't highly thought of in the draft have balled out.

Plainly put, staff turnover accounts for a lot of deficiencies, but players like Ryan Anderson, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Eddie Jackson, etc. are just hard to come by and we've gotten lucky.

I think that if Sark doesn't go away from our badass
workhorse(Najee) in the first half, that games is completely different. I think that the recipe was there on the first drive, but then Tua derped and it all went to shite in the first half It is what it is, but defense wins championships, and that notion is as relevant as last NC game. Staff and playover turnover has killed us in the last two years, and being lucky with badasses on our defense for several years has skewed our perspective.

Its a special formula to be able to win an NC, and we've been so good with that formula, plus a good bit of luck, and most times that just doesn't all come together. Just gotta move forward and get better.

I'm not one to overly blame coaching, but you're spot on in the last paragraph. Nice post.

Probably should've said that injuries can frick things up as well, which has been a thing.

When the toughest team you played is Duke, you aren't ready to face LSU and it takes time to adjust. That's why we've done well with a tough game early in the year, be it non-conference or a conference foe. It adjusts their performance level. It took us a whole first half to adjust to equal talent across from us. Stop playing New Mexico States.

Yeah, I am proud of them. I really expected a replay of 2nd half Clemson. These guys have heart.

Time to admit losing Pruitt and Kirby hurt. They started taking some of the defensive recruits that usually would have been ours with them.

It's up to the coaches to stay calm.

First possession of the game 3rd and goal I think you run the ball to the center of the field and take the points, and end the possession with a kick. That would have settled the team down, and set the tone. You do not risk the turnover even though it didn't come via interception the play was dead from the second it was called.

CNS has got to take a knee before half. Not going to score in 26 seconds. Who let the QB throw a pass down there ? That was the difference in the game.

Dang shame we will never get to see a healthy Tua all season long. Even with the mistakes, calls and just bad luck....a healthy Tua wins this game.

Bama should just shut down the program since we can't win every game.

Saban is still the best in the game. Somebody else try to win when everyone in the country takes your assistant coaches simply to hurt your program. He cant do it by himself.

That said he has got to stop bringing these teams to big games scared to lose. The process works without a doubt, but champions have got to have a little swagger, and teams that play tight dont have any swagger. Lighten up Coach. Let'em play fast.
