I would support a Truist Tournament with Bama, Florida, UGA, Ga Tech, Clemson, UNC.
Honestly though, neutral site stuff is tiresome. Mississippi through Texas is the area of the country where college baseball is most popular, so SEC West and Texas schools can probably pull it off better.
Biggest problem would be that it would be played right now and odds are pretty good you'd be playing half the games in 40 degree weather, so attendance would be pretty shitty. The tournaments they've had in Houston in past years and Arlington this year are played inside. Play a tournament like this in May in good weather in Atlanta and people would show up, but that's not possible with schedules. As you noted, people in Alabama, Georgia, Carolinas just don't care about college baseball at the same level as the Miss/LA/ARK/Texas schools. They aren't going to go sit through 9 innings of a college game in 39-degree weather (I probably wouldn't).
I like Alabama baseball and root for us, but it's definitely like 4th (at best) on my "cheer for sports" list behind the Braves, Alabama football, and basketball and probably around the same as the Hawks and Falcons. A lot of State/OM/LSU/A&M fans truly care about college baseball as much as anything except for football. I love the sport of baseball more than anything, but I care way more about the Braves than Alabama baseball

In my spitballing ideas, I failed to consider that the Astros and Rangers can play indoors.
A hypothetical Truist Throwdown would have to take on the SEC-Big XII mid-conference season scheduling. Ultimately college baseball is held back by semester schedules and the weather. The ideal playing time would be April-July, but classes end by the start of May.

Not at baseball today but didn’t see score updates. 1-1 in the bottom of the 3rd. Bama at bat.

Tied 1-1 through 2.5 innings.
I will be emailing Byrne regarding this pitiful 1 camera setup and I encourage many of you too as well. To be on the ESPN app and flip over to the Auburn game and see a broadcast with 4-5 camera angles, instant replay, etc., while we have this is ridiculous. I’m sure one email won’t mean much but he needs to know that at least someone perceives this as unacceptable.

How do we honestly look? I know it's the first series and all, but does the team look better coached than they did under Gaspard and Goof?

Bo has been here like 4 years now Gary

McNeese is a respectable opponent and we’ve played pretty well for opening weekend. All of the damage has come against basically two pitchers and we’ve used a bunch. So I feel like pitching is good and defensively we are sound. I’m not sure where our offense is realistically going to stack up. We aren’t there with the better teams in the league right now.

You can't really judge a baseball coach on his first two years. Then his third year got cut short before conference play due to the pandemic.
I haven't been able to watch the series. I just wanted to know how we look. It's only the first series, so it's hard to tell. But talent wise, we've got to be better considering how well he's recruited.

Hitt comes in and immediately gives up 2 runs and we're tied.
