Hard to get too excited until SEC play starts but this team is clearly much more talented and way deeper than any we've had since the early Gaspard era.

Yep - 0/8, only started 2 of the games and pinch hit in the other. Did have a RBI sac fly though.

This stat line doesnt make sense to me. How did he start against Northeastern, pitch 4 innings in a 9 inning game and get the win?

Nobody qualified for the win and in that situation the official scorer makes a judgement call on which pitcher "deserves" the win based on their influence on the outcome of the game. Official scorer decided it was him.

Thanks. I always thought it went to the most deserving relief pitcher. Guess I've never seen it go to a starter but it makes sense.

Yea I think usually it does because generally it ends up being a weird situation where it's a game with a ton of runs both ways, but this one ended up being just wanting to keep him on a pitch count......we took the lead as he was pitching, he was dominant, etc.

It's definitely more rare.

Is it too early to say Connor Prielipp is my top college arm for the 2022 draft?

His stuff, projection, and pitchability while being a lefty make him such an intriguing arm. Remember this is a cold weather arm. Bama was lucky to get this late bloomer to campus.
