Absolutely love the way our staff has pounded the zone this weekend. Outside of a few 2-3 batter stretches from the freshmen they have just attacked attacked attacked.

Today between Jean, McNairy and Lee - 72 strikes, 34 balls - 9 K, 1 BB

Perfect. Pitchers shut them out in 26 of the 27 series.

Before we get to SEC play, are there many good teams we are up against? I know Troy and USA have decent programs at times, but I don’t know much about baseball teams like I do basketball and football.

- Northeastern was picked to finish #2 in the Colonial
- UNLV is picked to finish middle of the pack in the MWC
- MTSU is picked last in CUSA (which is shocking, they used to be consistently very good)
- Harvard is picked to finsih #2 in the Ivy League
- Troy is picked to finish 4th in their division in the Sun Belt
- Alabama State is bad
- UT Martin is bad
- UNA is bad
- UAB is picked low in CUSA
- South Alabama is picked to win the Sun Belt
- Lipscomb is picked middle of the pack in the A-Sun

So no - not really a whole lot in there. I'd think anything less than 14-4 or 15-3 heading into the Missouri series would be a disappointment.

Thats a good opening weekend to start the season.
I like the solid contribution from a Freshman, sophomore, junior & senior.

I say this noting I have no idea what other freshmen have done, but I have to think Diodati has a chance to win SEC and maybe National Freshman of the Week.

That is an absurd stat line.
