SI does an “on this day in history” most days. I lived this history. Roll Tide!

March 6, 1982: Alabama beat Kentucky in Rupp Arena to win the SEC Basketball Tournament, 48-46. It was the Crimson Tide’s second SEC tournament championship, but the program’s first since 1934.

What the frick did you just fricking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the frick out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fricking words. You think you can get away with saying that shite to me over the Internet? Think again, fricker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fricking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable arse off the face of the continent, you little shite. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fricking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shite fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fricking dead, kiddo.

Alabama cruised into lock status, and despite some ups and downs, we’ll leave Tennessee there as well. Arkansas joined that group, and Florida and Missouri can do the same this week. As for LSU, see below.

Locks: Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida, Missouri

Should Be In: None

Work to Do: LSU, Ole Miss

LSU – The Tigers had a chance to wrap things up, but lost back-to-back road games at Georgia and Arkansas, leaving them 3-6 away from home and just 6-8 against Quads 1-2. Fortunately, they returned home and swatted Vandy on Tuesday. NCAA-level wins are Tennessee and Arkansas at home. Next up: a trip Missouri. It’s a chance for LSU to make its case before the SEC tournament.

Ole Miss – The Rebels lost at Vanderbilt at Saturday. Bad timing for a sub-100 NET loss. Tuesday, the Rebels bounced back to earn a must-win against Kentucky. Ole Miss now sits at 14-10 overall with a home date against Vandy on Saturday. While a win over Tennessee is nice, as is a sweep of Missouri, they have also lost Georgia, Dayton and Wichita State. It would really help for Ole Miss to end its yo-yo scenario and string two or three wins together.

Ole Miss is practically every Bama team of the last 15 years. A couple of good players + a bunch of crappy ones, solid defense, inconsistent offense, and a bunch of bad losses that offset a few good wins.

With a win over Georgia today, @AlabamaMBB would reach 21 wins for the first time since the 2012-13 season.

JD looks like a fantastic basketball player, but one guy is considered one of the ten best college basketball players in all of the country and the other just finished playing 2A basketball in Alabama

Not to mention, he's aNPoY semifinalist, and scores half the PPG then the other contenders. Why? Because basketball is more than just being an individual scorer. But that's too hard of a concept for some too understand.

I hope that Nova switches with Florida State in our bracket. The Noles could be trouble in the tournament, and Nova just lost their PG. I hate it for them. But I have no shame in saying that in a tournament setting, I want the wounded gazelle.
