He will not be the 3rd TE. Put money on it.
Side note-Christian Miller not looking good in the on field drills. Looks slow and stiff.

He should have tested with the edge guys instead of the LB group.

Hockensan and Fant are good. Fant was faster than Irv, and Hockensan was bigger.

Irv is a nice mix between the two. I think he will be a better pro than O.J.

I'll put it this way, in a normal draft, Irv is a first round pick. But there are SO many great defenders this draft. You could literally have the entire top 10 be D-line and edge guys.

He played slow and stiff last year. He was never the same guy after adding weight.

Mack Wilson sitting out the 40 and drills. Claims a tight hamstring.

I’m just glad it wasn’t one of his thumbs

OJ was one of the best TEs this year. You know that right?

Barring injury, OJ will be a perennial pro bowler.

I'm just saying. I think Irv has more want to, and is a bit better route runner. He isn't the blocker Howard was or is though.

With Howard's physical gifts, if he had Julio' s drive, he would be the GOAT. No question.

But I've already seen some "draft experts" say Hockensen is the best TE prospect in years, and it's because Howard has underwhelmed for his talent. They've already forgotten how good of a prospect he was.

Ummm Miller looked great this year. Finished with a better rush productivity grade from PFF than Sweat (albeit on fewer snaps I'm sure).

Damien looked really jacked and cut. Was really surprised at him only putting up 16 reps.

That bench press test is really only for the cameras. Unless you are on the extreme ends of the scale as an outlier in the reps number, it’s mainly a bragging tool. Doesn’t translate directly into a specific football skill and it’s usually a pretty compact bell curve.

Funny enough our guys usually don’t perform very explosively. Quinnen was great in the 40 this year. going back out guys are usually not great in the bench, vertical, broad jump, etc. Julio is the obvious exception. And some have done well in one area. It’s not really that important as the combine as way overvalued in terms of how it translates to the field. But it is kinda funny to me.

I don't agree at all, and Bama has had a littany of guys with impressive showings at the combine.

You are stuck on the bench press being the end-all-be-all at the combine, and it isn't. Outside of lineman (and maybe LBs), I doubt anyone cares at all about bench press.

This is demonstrably false.

I’m thinking back at most of our 1st round picks and I just don’t remember most doing that well. Julio did. Milliner ran a great 40, humphrey ran well. OJ had a great 40 but was not great in the broad jump or vert. If I’m remembering wrong that’s fine. Like I said it’s not really important. It’s the underwear Olympic

Kareem Jackson balled out and went very high in the draft and ended up making BANK!!! Few saw what he was capable of until after senior season workouts and the combine.

just sayin
