That’s not a good sign that they didn’t let Q play. Like maybe they are preparing for life without him.

So 3’s and FTs were still a struggle. Guess you can’t expect miracles overnight.

The 90 points is encouraging but Kira will hit the wall again if he doesn’t get spelled some.

Oats plan is to out score people so we should expect to see high opponent scores this season. Might be par for the course.

so what happens with a team who has a great D. Do we expect to outscore those teams. Just asking questions. I do believe in Nat Oats.

Probably just precautionary to get a feel of how the team looks without him. Wouldn't look too much into it considering they haven't gotten any word from the NCAA.

I don’t think he was allowed to play today without the waiver. Oats talked about it last week

JSU has won 20+ games in the last three years and had a top 55 offense statistically. They're pretty decent.

Plus it's a scrimmage.

Not-so-bold prediction: Javian plays more than Galin this season.

Looking at the box score and just realized Kira played 39 minutes and had ZERO turnovers. That’s fricking awesome.

We also forced 19 turnovers and had 12 steals. That was something we sucked at last year.

Really impressed. Only somewhat negative is the 81 points but t was just the first game/scrimmage.

We won’t be able to score in 90s with a team with great defense, may score in the sixties but still would be expected to out score them.

My biggest complaint is that people are still ranking both Gonzaga and Virginia too high. Both teams have great coaches but it is highly unlikely either team finishes near where they were ranked in the preseason poll.

My notable snubs are Florida State and Alabama. Both are teams with way more talent then they are given credit for, both will end the season being ranked.

I’m beyond ready for basketball season to get here! I really grew to appreciate the game over the last 5 or so years, having spent more time around it due to my wife coaching high school previously then really getting into Bama hoops when Avery Johnson was hired.

Football was the sport I played through high school and for part of my freshman year of college, but I’m finding it increasingly more difficult to enjoy watching football in general, even Alabama football is less interesting to me than it was 5 years ago. It’s hard to put a finger on why that is.

Anyhow, hoping this will be an entertaining season and can’t wait to see what Nate Oats can do at UA. I agree with him that this team is talented enough to make the tournament.

I’ve been going down this same path. I think the journey to the top is what’s exciting to me.

Plus I have full confidence in Saban and do not follow football recruiting like I use to
