Apparently so. There's not much video of him out there so hard to tell. People who saw him in person at this event said he was unreal. Someone said he scored his first 20 points of the game without missing a shot. He must've done well he got moved up to a 5 star after it.

I guess the lack of film and him being from Canada and not a lot of people seeing him play recently is why he wasn't rated higher to begin with.

It's certainly possible but I doubt it. Assuming he continues developing I'd think he will be in college for 2 years. He's got everything you'd want in an NBA guard though. Easy athleticism, good size, really well rounded offensive game with a great outside shot. Just depends on how much polish he is able to put on himself.

I read that he needs to work on ball handling. If he is one dimensional, cant dribble drive and score, they will take the 3 away from him in college.

I hope we get him, but we need an inside warrior more than anything. As Wimp said, and he is 100% correct, its just hard to overcome the lack of any post presence. And, I am not convinced we have anyone that can coach a post player.

Anthony Bennet, Andrew Wiggins, R.J. Barrett, Cory Joseph and Tristan Thompson...im sure that there are more. Outside of Joseph i believe all were top ten picks and all were McDonald's All Americans as well. I will give the kid thats on the Nuggets props. The kid who went to Kentucky and also Barret is young.

All one and done, and all except Cory Joseph were named conference Freshman of the Year or made an All American team during that one year. Barrett and Wiggins did both. Literally every guy you just named would be one of the best if not the best player on our roster next season if their high school selves were in our signing class.

Jonathan Givony is one of the main draft guys - like
one of two draft writers I’ve actually heard of. The fact that he’s just saying flat out he’ll be in our next first round mock for 2021 is pretty strong.

True but he will remain in the first round of mocks or drop out depending on how he plays next season.

It means he is really talented to be in there at all though, hope we get him.

Was there hype around his name like the others? His college career was before my time.

From Wikipedia:

After a successful high school basketball career in British Columbia, Nash earned a scholarship to Santa Clara University in California. In his four seasons with the Broncos, the team made three NCAA Tournament appearances, and he was twice named the West Coast Conference (WCC) Player of the Year. Nash graduated from Santa Clara as the team's all-time leader in assists and was taken as the 15th pick in the 1996 NBA draft by the Phoenix Suns. He made minimal impact and was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 1998. By his fourth season with the Mavericks, he was voted to his first NBA All-Star Game and had earned his first All-NBA selection. Together with Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Finley, Nash led the Mavericks to the Western Conference Finals the following season. He became a free agent after the 2003–04 season and returned to the Phoenix Suns.

We're about the same age, so I don't know honestly.

Keep in recruiting coverage was less refined back then.

Daeshun Ruffin, the 5-foot-9 point guard from Callaway (MS), told ZAGSBLOG Saturday that Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama and LSU are the main schools involved with his recruitment.

He broke down each school:

Auburn: “They’re really just telling me how I fit into their program and where they see me in the future, such as how many years I might stay and how I could excel in their offense.”

Ole Miss: “Same thing: How I fit into their program and what they see me doing. Being from Mississippi, I could be the face of the program. ”

LSU: “We haven’t really talked that much. We text from time to time and I really keep up with their season.”

Alabama: “Same thing. There are a couple guys from Mississippi. They talk about how I could fit in with those guys. I could also take the program to the next level. ”

Ruffin also broke down what he’s looking for in a school:

“I would say just the all-around school: the education, the fans, just everything,” Ruffin said. “It’s not only about basketball. I want to see how they can help me off the court as well.”

Ruffin has taken official visits to Alabama and Ole Miss. He says he will “probably” take a couple visits after the season ends.

“They have a crazy atmosphere,” Ruffin said about his Ole Miss visit. “If you go to one of their games, you can really feel the fans rooting for you. I would say the fans for sure.”

According to 247Sports, Ruffin is ranked as the No. 24 overall player in the Class of 2021 and the No. 3 ranked point guard.
