Spoke with Top-50 senior Karim Mane. He tells @Stockrisers that DePaul has extended an offer to him.
In addition, Michigan State’s Tom Izzo will visit with Mane in Canada on Friday. The Spartans have yet to offer him.
ESPN just rated him 25th in the recent 2020 NBA mock draft.

The Davidson Kid is the real deal. I don't know if we can get him. Duke has offered him. He could excel in Oats' style of play.

Hard to imagine a team missing more shots within two feet than Alabama does.

I wish we woukd take guys like Tommy Murr...just kids who know how to hoop. We get killed by those guys but we always want the best athlete.

Probably because if you recruit a bunch of mid-major players you have no hope of competing in a power conference.

Not a bunch but I have to admit , I wished we had that one guy that most mid majors have that can come off a screen and fill it up from the 3pt line. Kills us all the time
Maybe not the best athlete but just a basketball player

Plenty of major conference teams have guys who can hit 3s but are also athletic enough to effectively guard other major conference players on the defensive end.

Well we seem to not get those guys too often
Are you saying those mid majors don’t guard us effectively when we play them ?

This season we're shooting 3 pointers at around 35%
That's not lighting it up but it is above average.
That also includes Shackleford leading the team in attempts while only shooting 27%. And, I would guess he'll eventually be a 35% or better shooter once he lays off more of the low percentage looks as he adjusts to bigger and quicker defenders.
My take from that is that it Oates' style has most of the players that can shoot 3s (Petty, Kira, Reese) feeling a lot more comfortable in this offense than in Avery Johnson's. Comfort level is the most important ingredient for shooting the ball as well in actual games as practice.
The offensive issue this current team faces is much more continually forcing the dribble penetration and/or pass when an opening isn't there.

And dribbling into congestion...

Oh yea for sure . My response was to a couple posters talking about mid majors players . Just saying that just about every one has a player that slipped through the cracks of P5 schools but is still a good player and how we usually find a way to face those teams on our schedule

Did i say a bunch? At the end of the day kid can play ball. And knows how to play the game. Always been our issue no matter the coach imo. We go and get athletic guys who we believe can shoot but we never get.guys that are just basketball players. If we.play against that kid three years from now he will eat.
