I feel like Kira is leaning towards coming back but if he doesnt Charleston Southern PG Christian Keeling is Grad transfering. Really good player that I hope Nate looks at.

Good Interview. I gathered 2 things....
1. Petty aint coming back because he is "Out of Town" and hasnt even spoke to Nate yet.
2.Sounds like Antoine is gonna stay because Nate says its important to have someone that knows this part of the country for recruiting.

Then clean house and bring in Bucky. I love Pett but he can't spend his entire life in Tuscaloosa. We need new and fresh everything so the remaining players know it's a new day, a new regime and the old stuff ain't gonna cut it anymore. It would probably do Antoine a lot of good for a change of scenery as well.

That will be a mistake. There's 100+ coaches that know recruiting in this part of the country. Pick one that's currently not on the payroll.

Yeah I would rather go the Bucky route too. He has a similar philosophy to Nate from what I hear so it would be a good fit.

Yeah, it definitely seems that way. But, I'm still holding out hope. I don't see him as the problem child a lot of people seem to view him as. I think he can be a very good player. I think he's in the transfer portal because he DOES care and wants to play for a team that can win and get him to the next level. I don't think he's going to find a better situation than he'd have next year at Bama.

Here's hoping we finally made a good hire. I really want to watch Bama basketball again.

Yeah I hope he comes back. He would have a lot of Catch and Shoot opportunities and I think Coach Oats would have him shooting more consistent.

I know I’m about to have a good helping of dislikes for this, but how? Pretty much every school has a coach that is simply an ace recruiter. Pettway is just that. I understand people associate him with the past two coaching tenures, but let’s not act like he was the problem with those 2 tenures. He’s the only reason we made it to the NCAAT last year. If you trust Nate is a good coach, there’s no reason to want Pettway gone.

The year is 2345, Alabama's newest basketball coach Nanu Nanu announces that Antoine Pettway's remains will stay on as the 3rd assistant.

I think Bucky would be a good addition, but I’m not sure I’d want him as our southeast guy. He may pull recruits from Alabama, but we don’t know if he’s a good enough recruiter to hit the surrounding areas.

Based on what?

I really don't care what other schools are doing. I care way more about the coaching ability than recruiting ability. Get me the best assistants he can get and recruiting will work itself out.

If he wasn’t producing I’d understand, but he’s been good at his job. Retin Obasohan played for both Grant and Johnson and if it were allowed, I’d have him play for us during the Oats era as well

curious as to how a student can be out of town during school? They are not on Spring break this week, are they? I dont ever remember feeling like I could just take off and not worry about missing classes.

He was the guy who identified Collin Sexton before he blew up and established the relationship.

Pett needs to go. We can do better.

He may not be taking many classes since its basketball season. May not have classes on Thursday and Friday.

Then my point still stands.
