Exactly. They’ve decided to take the Auburn approach: “We ain’t cooperating and we ain’t admitting anything. If you think you have enough evidence to bust us, go ahead. But you’d better make damn sure it’ll hold up in a court of law because they will be the next one seeing the case if penalties are issued.”

As a Bama fan if I inside info we were paying for a player's service that secret would go to grave with me.

The kid was lured to Mountain Brook after his eighth grade year when he played varsity at Shades Valley.

Just to go on record, I didn't want D. Cousins at Bama because of the stuff that happened at Erwin/Center Point high school. I thought it would take a coach like Cal or Roy Williams to get through to him.

It's not that I don't want him. The part of me who wants college athletics to not be a dirty, scummy business wants us to stay away from him, but he's a good player who would help us win games and it's not as if the NCAA is going to do anything about him going around with his hand out, so whatever.

Auburn has not been implicated in any "pay for play" recruit purchasing.
Auburn may have won the stupid olympics but we did not win Will Wade's "Strong Arse Offer" sweepstakes.

Isn’t Wade on tape? How can he skate past this if his voice is literally on tape saying things like “strong arse offer” and “nba rookie minimum”? I just don’t get it.

I think people are jumping to conclusions that his reinstatement at this time will really mean much at all once the NCAA begins their investigation.
LSU AD practically said as much about the reinstatement, about as "hands off" as you can get.
The quotes on the tape are second hand through defense lawyers, so nothing is going to really happen until the NCAA has access or a verified transcript.
I think the only way Wade skates ultimately though is if somehow those tapes are never made available to the NCAA.

and I think lSU knows they can hold their own with their former interim coach. He has been a HC before. This way they may be able to fire with cause as opposed to firing now and doing the buyout.
