It really was excellent. Basketball team at a high school in the Navajo Indian reservation that competes against other Arizona high schools. It was well done. Successful new coach comes in and changes the typical "Resball" style of play to a more disciplined approach. Lots of good individual stories as well. I know Cooper is not at the level of player we are recruiting but he seems like a polished solid player with tremendous heart and work ethic.

I'll have to check that out. I'm watching The Boys on Amazon Prime right now.

Josh Hall

This guy could end up being an absolute monster. He’s 6’9 wing with some handle and for once, I believe a HS player’s listed height (honestly wouldn’t surprise me if he was taller). Very smooth and effortless game. Reminds me of watching Kevin Durant in high school where there wasn’t many jaw dropping moments in his highlights, just him quietly and effortlessly dominating competition with his all-around offense against what seems like players half his height. Hard to go off of just highlights, but I’d probably take him over just about anyone we’re after except Nix, which is a long shot anyways.

The times I've seen Colby Jones play, he hasn't looked like SEC talent to me. He looked like the 3rd or 4th best player on the Fusion.

I wonder if we led for Beauchamp because we were the school he was the closest to being able to qualify for. If the rumors are true that he skipped college because he couldn't get in, this seems possible.

Would make sense if he didn’t live in Arizona where both Arizona State and Arizona have an 80% acceptance rate compared to Alabama’s 53% acceptance rate. I guess it’s possible that he was lacking in a specific area we were more lenient on or perhaps we have MUCH lower requirements for our athletes than they do.

Hofstra's Omar Silverio has received a waiver from the NCAA and is eligible to play during the 2019-20 college basketball season, per release. Transfer from Rhode Island.

NCAA has handed a couple of these out lately. Hope JQ gets his.

247 says his hometown is Glendale, Arizona, but that could be just because that’s where he’s going to HS.

Educated guess on another non-conference opponent is Furman. Elon, Furman, & UTSA are 3 of the 4 mainland teams in the Battle 4 Atlantis. Seton Hall plays Florida A&M on 11/23, and I'm thinking they may be the 4th mainland team. Process of elimination has Bama playing Furman.

Top 5 most watchable teams for 2019

3. Alabama Crimson Tide

quote:

Alabama’s offense suffered tremendously under a Head Coach who refused to change with the times and were one of the most unwatchable offenses last year. Avery Johnson’s Iso-oriented mid-2000’s like offense ranked in the bottom half in the league in both Assists per Field Goals Made and Percent of Points from the Three-Point Line. Fortunately, though, Alabama‘s athletic board was ready for change and fired Johnson in place of my favorite coach in all of college basketball, Nate Oats. Oat’s system is tested, as with a bunch of 2 and 3-star recruits, Oats managed to produce the 7th most watchable offense in the entire nation at SUNY Buffalo.

quote:

Ranking inside the top half in the nation in every single Watchability stat, including 13th in Pace of Play and 15th in Offensive Efficiency, Nate Oats’ Bulls ran teams out of the gym like a Sanfermines festival and were efficient at it too. But, after a disappointing demolition at the hands of the NCAA championship runner-up Texas Tech in the 2nd round of last year’s tourney, Oats decided to go big and take his talents to arguably the biggest sports school in America. And it’ has started to pay off, with three 4-star freshmen coming in and a HUGE transfer get in former 5-star recruit and uber-talented Javon Quinerrly, Oats has all the talent he needs to run one of the most exciting offenses college basketball has ever seen. Alabama fans finally have another major sport to look forward too besides football.
