There is really no reason to invite Cecil otherwise,that I can surmise.
Maybe he is a friend?
Usually people closest to the favored program are made/ invited to attend. Like journalists who cover a team.
Makes no sense for this kid to go to LSU over Alabama unless it's money.
It would be suicidal for LSU to be doling out cash knowing the scrutiny their program is under.

Through multiple state championships and now MB having a high profile recruit for 4 years, I’m sure Bucky knows Cecil pretty well.

I mean, Wade is literally on tape talking about offers he has made to recruits and didn't get fired over it, so is it really suicidal?

NCAA has not officially gotten involved in his case as yet. Unless LSU has been assured by them that he is in the clear it certainly would be suicodal to permit their coach to continue his rogue ways and jeopardize and cripple their basketball program for many years.

LSU's hands are tied until the NCAA gets involved. Once that happens, then they can suspend him and then fire him with cause.
