It's a big game, but I wouldn't call anything a must win at this point. We have to go 7-7 to finish the season to at least have a shot of getting in. There aren't any great or very bad teams in the SEC, so I think we could win or lose every game.

The mindset of every basketball team in the SEC right now.

Even though I know we play tomorrow, this is pretty much my feeling surrounding the basketball season. I used to wake up and try to take as much info in about CBB and Alabama as possible- even in the Grant days.

So tired of disappointment. At least the M&W's golf starts back soon.

I feel for you man. I wouldn't get too down though, I'd point out that Alabama's current situation looks a lot like Auburn's situation last year, except arguably better. With Avery's early recruiting curve (limited connections for full class) + lack of roster carryover from Grant, there simply wasn't the roster to support a young talent like Sexton

I'd say that Bama's team next year should be a much, much better team even without Sexton

Moving Forward

Assuming Petty/Hall/Key don't split and return to Bama, this is a great roster rotation

PG- Jared Butler + Diante Wood
SG- JPetty + DIngram
SF- Tevin Mack (transfer) + Herb Jones
PF/Stretch 4- Braxton Key
C - Hall/Giddens

PF/C Backups- GSmith, AReese

I know there are some people who don’t follow basketball recruiting, so I just want to point out something about Jared Butler. First of all, he was nominated to be a McDonalds All-American. They’re announcing the winners in 45 minutes, so that’s how good he is (although I don’t expect him to be selected as one of the winners). He’s a pure shooter. Can shoot from DEEP. And the good thing is he’s not a one and done, so he’ll be here more than a year or two I’m sure.

Just wanted to point that out since he’s sort of under the radar

Moving forward, Bama has a great core of multi year players to work with.

24 players were selected. Jared Butler missed the cut

Edit: Oh you said nominations. Not sure how many of those were handed out. All I know is they just selected 24 All Americans from the nominees

Butler should be good. Wood and Fleming could be anywhere from transferring after 1-2 years to good players. Fleming in particular is an interesting player.

I still hate that we missed out on Stewart. *Could* have been a major contributor year 1.

It's weird after he made the 11-1 with a soft schedule

You can't claim a team is good and bad within 2-3 weeks

Any chance the game gets cancelled? is AU already there?

The good news is the University of Alabama will open back up and continue classes at noon tomorrow. Hopefully the game will be good to go as well

Andy Katz did a Skype interview with Collin Sexton today and asked him about a number of things. Here’s the interview and it lasts almost 9 minutes LINK
