Pat’s gonna find a way to frick this season up. Like...no doubt about it. He’s the Bob Stoops of college softball.

I always thought he was the Tom Osborne of softball (except he got his “1983”). So he’ll prod along until winning three titles in his final few seasons. Then waltz off into the sunset.

I'd take that all day. A few down seasons and then he retires after reeling of 3 or 4 of the greatest teams in the college game ever.

If that were Alabama this board would be screaming for Murphy's head, and call our AD all kinds of names. FOM

So if we complete the sweep, are we #1 on Monday? When was the last time we were ranked #1 during the regular season? Seems like its been close to ten years.

2013 was the last time Bama was number 1 in softball.

2013.

We've actually been quite spotty this decade.

In the 2000s, Alabama attained #1 a handful of times, last of which was dominating the 2010 regular season and finished as the SEC Tournament and Season Champion and the first #1 overall seed in the tournament, one of Murphy's best teams of all time.

We don't speak of how that year ended.

Possibly.

We should easily jump Florida and Oklahoma's sechdule's so far... Florida State is a bit iffy.

UCLA is probably who will be the new #1. The Bruin's schedule so far, with their one loss 1-3 to Michigan, includes wins over Kentucky, Nebraska, Oklahoma, A&M and two wins over Florida.

Right now our blockbuster win is a fleecing of formerly top 10 Arizona out west, a WCWS contender, South Florida, and a sweep of formerly top 25 Minnesota.

That 10 team was loaded with 2 stud pitchers. Won like 29 straight games, should have won the WCWS that year.

Beat Hawaii easily in game one of the supers, fell apart in game 2 and needed one damn out to win game 3 with a 1 run lead. Smh.

I think Hawaii lead the NCAA in home runs that year.
