Looks like Trevon Diggs outsmarted himself.
Quit playing and delete yourself from the first round.
Got some really bad advice probably from the brother.

This is dumb. There's very little difference, if any, in terms of player talent and when they see the field between NFL players drafted in the first and second round. Have we forgotten that arguably the best safety in the NFL, Landon Collins, slipped to the second round? I think Diggs will be a better pro than college player.

Definitely tells the story.
Probably been a while since we failed to get 1 Dman in the 1st round.

Maybe but if he'd played in the Citrus Bowl and had a good showing against guys like Peoples-Jones and Nico Collins he may have bumped his draft stock enough to be a 1st rounder.

We’ll have two next year. Outside shot at 3-4 depending on how things play out.

Moses
Surtain
Waddle
Leatherwood
Smitty

Virtual locks.

Jobe and Ray could play themselves in on defense. Najee could play himself in on offense. Should be a really talented football team. Will be a pretty big disappointment if we miss the playoffs

What is so dumb about it? He stopped playing to save himself for the draft, thinking he was a sure 1st rounder, but did not make it. Plenty of draft analysis mentioned that as a mitigating factor. Landon and Cam were relegated to second round for other reasons and undeservedly so. They were definitely 1st round talents but Diggs still had something to prove and he did not take advantage of the opportunities.

The knock on Diggs is he can play press man and legit nothing else.

1 game vs Michigan wasn't gonna convince scouts otherwise. He had a very good year aside from the LSU game, but people got die on this hill because he skipped a bowl game.

Eddie Jackson and Derrick Henry were not first round picks. Henry is a freak and Jackson is the highest paid safety in the league now.

Iirc, it appeared that safety wasn't a top priority position for most, if any, teams with first round picks. No safeties were taken in the first round.

Eddie Jackson would have been a first rounder had he not broken his leg in the middle of the season. He was having that kind of a year. As far as Derrick Henry goes, people have been underestimating his potential at the next level since he was a senior in high school.

Knock on Diggs is he is a poor or reluctant tackler too.But I am not knocking Diggs.
Just saying that he did not help himself probably due to some bad advice. With proper showcasing he might have canceled any small doubts teams may have had about his value. He did not play the bowl game nor the Senior Bowl that could have enhanced his worth.
That being said I hope he goes in the Top Five in the second round along with McKinney.

He never ran an official 40 either, right? I'm curious why he didn't.

Don't think he did. He was probably going to do that at his Pro Day. But that didn't happen.

I’m sorry but skipping a bowl does not hurt or improve your stock. Teams have film from all season and that one game will not define them, it did then AJ Terrell should have been undrafted after that LSU game.

Have you heard of the Senior Bowl?
Have you heard how it helps players every year to raise or sometimes lower their draft status? Have you heard how it helped Justin Herbert shoot up the draft boards this year?
Do you think they all would have plenty of film for the Pros?
