“It’s a weird one,” Jansen said. “I’m not even going to lose sleep over this one.”

It was a struggle for Jansen, who recorded a strike with just 11 of 23 pitches. The veteran closer uncorked a wild pitch while issuing Paul Goldschmidt a five-pitch walk. He then hit Nolan Arenado with a 0-2 cutter to load the bases.
“It’s been a while since I’ve had one like this,” Jansen said. “The ball wasn’t cutting. Everything was flat.”

A couple things here- It took a long time for him to give the game away, and in that time it became clear to everyone watching including Jansen himself that "everything was flat," and he had absolutely nothing. Snitker had time to make a move, and sat there paralyzed with stubborn what ? Loyalty ? Ignorance ? Fear ? Ineptitude ?
Iglesias will be with the Braves three more years- he is the future. What are we waiting on ?
I'm still fuming because you could feel that game slipping away last night, and somehow I knew Jansen was all the Birds needed to get the W.
Someone please help me... simply throw me a bone here- Why have the Braves used the least talented arm in the pen as the closer for what seems like years now ? It's maddening.
Modern baseball, and most definitely playoff baseball is all about shortening the game with the bullpen- if you cant close the door in the 9th I dunno what our goals are.
Snit has it all backwards. I would have Jansen pitching the 6th or seventh inning if the other teams bottom of order was up, and I'd have someone else in the pen at least playing long toss.
In critical high leverage games I'd go McHugh, Minter, Iglesias.
McHugh, Minter, and Iglesias can all miss bats.
Jansen has gained 20 pounds since the season started. His face is fat, and he looks like he is going to stroke out on the mound. No wonder he had to take some time off for heart issues.
At least next year the Will Smith and Jansen years long shite show is over, and Iglesias will be a big upgrade in the ninth.

We miraculously got by, won the World Series with Smith. However, the baseball gods will probably not be on our side with Jansen this postseason.
Who the hell knows what Snit's reasons are, but last night the confidence level for most of us was low when Jansen entered the game.
The great news is he's unavailable for tonight's game.

Looking forward to the Minter takes after the Jansen ones

Minter has been great this year.
Jansen has been a roller coaster.
Seriously, do the Will Smith & Jansen fan boys watch the games, or just check the box score in the morning ?
When drama unfolds before you can get three outs on the reg you probably shouldnt be in high leverage situations IMO.

Jesse Chavez is back with Atlanta.
Braves pick him up on waivers from the Angels. His third stint with Atlanta in about 18 months.

Nice window flex. The bottom just fell out though. I'm a couple of miles from you and I can barely see my car in the parking lot.

Man SoG they already forced you in the office? We got them fancy hybrid schedules now. I can be a code monkey from home

We've been back since June 2020

That switched our group to hybrid around that time. Luckily our traffic is nowhere near close to the levels in Atlanta.
But some lucky folks still working 100% remote

I could work at home a lot more than I do, but honestly I like being in the office. I work at home every Friday and occasionally on other days when I feel like it or have a kid thing in the evening, but I'm just more productive here.
