Might could have moved Ozuna and Heredia for a better option.

I'm not exactly hyped about Grossman either, but he mashes lefties and is certainly worth more than the bucket of used baseballs and glass of stale beer we'd have gotten for Ozuna.

Braves pounding the Phillies.
Big games by Ozuna/Rosario.
Strider (NL Rookie of the Month) with another masterpiece. 13K's
Mets lost to the Nats, so we'll only be 2.5 out.
As far as the trades, nothing eye popping. However, Odorizzi is an innings eater. 3.33 era last 4 starts.
Grossman .364 avg vs LHP.
Iglesias, durable reliever. 50 saves since start of 21.
Yates will soon be up.
Ozzie late August, early September.

Ronald gets back in the home run column.

I hope people layoff Ronald. This is exactly what happen to Donta Hightower he played in 2010 but wasn’t himself until 2011. Ronnie probably won’t be back to himself until next season and that’s completely normal

Yeah, his party like it's 1999 stroll around the bases hasn't happened as often this year.
Still plenty of time for him to get hot before the playoffs.

His knee has nothing to do with his back shoulder dipping which is why he's struggling.

The injury as it relates to a football and baseball player is apples to oranges. He looks all systems go stealing 2nd or sniffing a hit down 1st baseline. I'd say explosive AF.

Really proud of him for not doing some kind of elaborate celebration after hitting his first HR in a month. That seems like a positive step forward to me.

Hope his bat comes around this weekend. Can't really shite the bed this weekend if we want to win the division.

Absolutely can’t get run out of New York this weekend. It took a 6 weeks to get to 3.5 games. You lose a 3 or more this weekend and we likely never catch them. Just not enough time left.

It's really frustrating that the Mets offense is trash against everyone but us.

Yeah. They really don’t look like a team that can make a deep playoff run. Their offense is sporadic. But like you said, it has shown up against Atlanta this season.

Ian Anderson is a head-case.

What can you do with a guy that can't throw strikes with an 8 run lead ?

Doesn't look like Soroka is going to make it this year, and Strider could eventually hit that rookie innings wall... Braves may run outta pitching

It's almost like they knew this and went out and traded for a solid starter in Odorizzi.

Your math is off a little, but hopefully someone can come up from the farm and provide a lift.

Truly uncanny how the Mets run their offense on walks, HBPs, and weak contact bloops. Smh

They're definitely not up at the plate free swinging, hacking at anything.
They make the opposing pitcher throw strikes.

They're at the bottom of MLB in hard hit % but at the top in BABIP. We're #1 in hard hit % and middle of the pack in BABIP. It's fricking maddening. We aren't winning the division. Can't beat these losers head to head. It really doesn't help that I despise every player on their team other than deGrom. Especially Alonso, McNeil, and Nimmo.

The Marlins discussed numerous proposals with teams, and Miami had the opportunity to deal outfielder Avisail Garcia, who has been a disappointment. But it likely would have required the Marlins to take substantial money back. The Marlins and Braves had a discussion involving Garcia and former Marlins outfielder Marcell Ozuna, but it never reached the point of either side proposing a trade.

Ozuna is hitting .219, with a .274 on-base percentage, with 18 homers and 40 RBI in 96 games and 402 plate appearances. Garcia is at .233, .270, with 7 homers and 30 RBI in 87 games and 341 plate appearances. This would have essentially been a swap of contracts.

Ozuna is earning $16 million this season and is set to make $16 million each of the next two seasons, with a $16 million team option (or $1 million buyout) in 2025. Garcia is making $12 million this season and is due $12 million each of the next three seasons, with a $12 million team option (or $5 million buyout) in 2026. Ozuna’s defense has declined and he’s now considered primarily a designated hitter. The Marlins already have enough of those.

Garcia then left Tuesday’s game with a hamstring injury.

Ozuna has some of the worst reverse splits in baseball. Combined with his domestic violence incident in 2021, this would have been a fresh start for both players. Unlike Ozuna, Garcia is a better bat against lefties at a lower cost. His contract still would have been pretty ugly, but perhaps it would have been easier for them to get out from under, considering he doesn’t come with a history of domestic violence.

Regardless, this is something we can expect the Braves to continue to explore. Ozuna’s contract is the black eye of the organization, and eventually, they will get rid of it one way or another. I would be surprised if he started next season on the team.

The biggest difference between us and the Mets is they put the ball in play and we don’t. Productive outs go a long way and we don’t have enough of them.

We are basically a slightly better version of the 2013 team

I wish the Braves pitchers would start hitting Nimmo with the first pitch of his every at bat

They're a frustrating team to play against.
They're approach at the plate is the complete opposite of ours.
Patience, work the count, put the ball in play, opposing starting pitcher pitch count up to 100 by the 5th inning.
