Steve Spurrier Out Here Trying To Grab An AAF Title While Commenting On Leagues Folding
© Matt Stamey-USA TODAY Sports
Orlando Apollos coach Steve Spurrier shared his comments on the news that the AAF has been shut down and will most likely fold. Per sun-sentinel.com...
quote:

“Everybody wanted to play out the season and everybody is disappointed. Everyone was led to believe that the Alliance was well funded and we could play three years without making any money and this, that and the other. Obviously, everything that was said was not very truthful.”
He also tried to get his first-place Apollos to be declared the champions...

I can't argue his position: his team had the best record at the end, so as he says they are deserving. And he wants the players to get something tangible out of the season now that it was cut short of completion: let them say they are the champs, and not let the entire effort be wasted time....
