Broncos Coach Vic Fangio Refuses To Shake Hands With Jets Coach & Players After Game
© Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports
The Denver Broncos beat the New York Jets with their third string QB Brett Rypien on Thursday night. Late in the game, Rypien took some hard hits while trying to run out the clock, which upset Broncos head coach Vic Fangio, who after the game refused to shake Jets head coach Adam Gase and pulled his team off the field...

After the game, Fangio told this to reporters...
quote:

“Well there just was a couple personal fouls there at the end and our sideline was getting pissed off about it and I just wanted to avoid any confrontation at the end of the game and having it get ugly there so I tried to get our guys to leave quickly just to avoid anything happening there,” Fangio told reporters after the game. “I thought it was the prudent thing to do.”

Why not kneel the ball, Vic?

The Broncos could have knelt and ended the game. Instead, they used the final seconds to give Rypien deep ball practice reps. I'd have lit him up too.

They were kneeling the ball but Gase opted to use timeouts. So Broncos every right to throw the ball. Gase should not have called TO when no chance to win

I'm a Denver guy but frick Vic Fangio and frick the Broncos. Up 11 with 15sec to go and you're throwing bombs? It's up to the line to keep that guy safe. Otherwise, I'd say it's open season on the guy airing it out. Those hits weren't even that malicious.

Butkus would call timeouts at end of half just to get extra hits

What a bitch! Take a knee if you want to feel justified for not shaking hands. He has them throwing the ball downfield up 11 inside 30 seconds left?
