Taysom Hill Reacts To Drew Brees’ Returning To Saints For 2020 Season
© Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports
Saints backup QB Taysom Hill recently spoke about his hopes to be a franchise QB in New Orleans or elsewhere. However, Hill does see the value in Drew Brees returning for the 2020 season...
quote:

“At the end of the day, I look at Drew coming back and maybe I’m not playing quarterback, which is ultimately where I want to have an opportunity to play in the NFL,” Hill said via Pro Football Talk, “but there are still going to be opportunities for me to make plays. I can tell you a unique experience for me that most backup quarterbacks don’t get is I’m in the huddle with Drew on game day. . . . That to me is invaluable.”

I really like Taysom Hill, and I think he has one of the best gigs in the NFL. He's a Swiss Army knife for the Saints, and excels at that role. I think the Saints should add in some defensive snaps for the guy; he's that talented. I'm not sold on him replacing Brees, but damn, he is fun to watch.

Totes RJ!!! how much better would our defense be at covering tight ends and rb's out of the backfield with 6'4 230 lb tayson hill at strong safety....and he's fast enough to play zone and cover large wr's as well.

The fact that he has stayed healthy playing all the positions that he has, and taking all that punishment is amazing to me. He's had 2 serious injuries during his years playing football. I hope he is able to get a change to start. I am not sure that he is the person to replace Breese. He could be. Truth is, nobody knows who is.

Drew isn’t retiring until Tom dies. Drew wants to keep those records

Brees and Brady, 2 outstanding QBs. No surprise both are coming back. Almost certainly each would retire with uncontested ownership of all the passing record books. To do that, each needs to continue playing after the other retires. Aslong as they are healthy, don't be surprised to see them back in 2021, and ...

I can promise you he never will be unless he keeps this attitude. Believe in yourself, and put in the work.

I like the kid but he will never be half the QB that Drew Brees is. If he becomes a regular starter in the league I will will be surprised.
